El's pov:
Me and Mike walked into the store and he was working, I should have known he was working here, he mentioned it to me before. I looked at Mike, giving him the look of 'do you want to go' he shook his head and walked up to the window. I followed closely behind him, not really wanting to deal with him right now.
"Can I get a chocolate cone and....... El what do you want?" Mike said directly to Will, then turned to me.
"Strawberry please." I said quietly.
Will rung us up and gave us the cones.
"$6.50 please." He said dryly.
Mike rolled his eyes at him.
"Really, years and years of friendship, and you're going to act like this, like you don't even know us, real mature." Mike snapped at him.
"$6.50." Will said again. Holding his hand out for the money.
Mike's pov:
When El realized who it was working, she started panicking. I reassured her a little and walked up to the window, I asked for the ice cream we wanted, and Will was being a little harsh.
He rung us up and gave us the cones.
"$6.50 please." He said dryly.
I rolled his eyes at him.
"Really, years and years of friendship, and you're going to act like this, like you don't even know us, real mature." I snapped at him.
"$6.50." Will said again. Holding his hand out for the money.
I smacked the money into his hand and walked away with El jogging to keep up with me, I was mad, Will had been my best friend for years and he lets El get in between us. I understand that I shouldn't want to be his friend, ugh why can't he just stop being a dick for 3 seconds.
"Mike." I was snapped out of my thoughts with El voice. "you need to calm down, I understand why you're so pissy, but he obviously doesn't want to be friends right now, you need to give him some time." I nodded and we went into El's car.
El's pov:
Mike was really mad at Will, I was able to calm him down a little. We got into my car and we went to Mike's house, when we got there there was a different car in the driveway.
"You recognize that car?" I turned and asked him. He shook his head almost a second after I asked him. I was getting nervous, I don't do well with new people, I started panicking.
"Hey you'll be alright I'm right here with you, ok." He said trying to calm me down.
"Promise?" I asked, breathing heavy.
"Promise." He responded immediately.
We walked into his house and Nancy was sitting on the couch with Karen and Johnathan. Their heads shot to us when they heard the door closing. Nancy got up and hug Mike like he was going to disappear any second.
"I missed you so much." She said into his shoulder.
"Me to." He replied, hugging her just as tight.
She let go of him and Johnathan walked up to him.
"Hey." He said.
"Hi." Mike said back, "Your brother's being a huge dick."
"What else is new." Johnathan replied smiling.
Mike's pov:
I was super surprised to see Nancy again, after about 30 minutes of socializing, Nancy, Johnathan and Mom went into the kitchen to have some drinks. El and I went into the basement and watched a movie, we both got bored of it and just talked about anything and everything.
"El?" I ask.
"Mhm." She responds, clearly tired.
"Can you teach me how to drive, I only want you to teach me, I'll feel safer with you there." I ask.
"I would love to Mike, we'll start tomorrow, ok?" She tells me.
"Ok." I respond.
Not long after our conversation, she falls asleep with her head on my chest. I fall asleep shortly after her, with my arms wrapped around her waist.
