I turned over, bumped into something solid, and sat up. The bus was dark, making it hard to see who was laying next to me. I only knew that it wasn't Corbyn.

"Alex. What happened? Are you okay?" It was definitely Jonah. He sat up too.

"Yea, uhh, I'm fine. I was just confused for a second. I'm gonna use the restroom."

"Okay." He stayed where he was. "Oh right." He got off of the bunk and I climbed out after him. I went to the restroom but I really didn't have to pee or anything. I just needed a minute.

I should have checked who's bed it was. I mean it was bound to happen. I was on a bus with five boys and I couldn't spend the whole time lying in Corbyn's bunk. He had a girlfriend.

But Jonah's just a friend, I didn't want him to think anything else. It hurt me that I couldn't like Jonah the way he does me. I looked at myself in the mirror, my face was puffy from sleep and my hair was messy, and starting to grease. I needed a shower.

Someone knocked on the door, I creaked it open. It was Daniel. "Sorry, I'll let you finish." It sounded like he was half asleep.

"No it's fine." I opened it the rest of the way. "I'm finished anyway." I stepped out as he went around me.

"Thanks." I nodded and he closed the door. When I went back to Jonah's bunk, I saw that he had fallen back to sleep. I sighed and went to the lounge to change. A smell invaded my nose. I frowned and sniffed myself. Ugh, I need a wash.

"The shower is in the room over there." Corbyn said.

I jumped and turned. "Don't do that. You scared."

He smiled and laughed. "I know. You jumped like a mile into the air."

"That's not funny. Where was the shower again?"

"Over there." He pointed to the other side of the door.

"Thanks." Seeing Corbyn made me think about his phone call. "Corbyn?"

He was already turning to leave, but stopped. "Yeah?"

And then I wimped out. So I said the first thing that came to my head. "Thank you for letting me stay with you guys."

He smiled. "You welcome. I would hug you, but you stink." With that he walked out.

I laughed and opened the wooden siding door that led to the tiny shower compartment. I made sure that the door was shut and locked, before stripping down to nothing. I turned on the water and waited for it to get warm. While I waited, I stood in front of the mirror, staring at a reflection that I don't recognize.

A girl with dark black hair and dull blue eyes. My skin was too pale, a sign that I needed to get out more. For a moment I saw the lady who was in my living room. The lady who ruined a perfectly good day, my actual mother. And then the steam over came the glass.
