"Mum, I'm headed to Papa's!" March yelled through the large Austin estate.
"Be back before he throws another party."
She grumbled under breath, and open the door, walking the small distance to her father's house.
March opened the small window, and simply sang, "Aye-oh!"
A powerful voice rang back, it rattled the room.
"Aye-oh!"
The voice stopped. "Is that you, March?"
"It is only if you want me to be!"
"Good, because I'd like a greeting from my daughter."
"Oh, Papa!"
The small girl jumped onto her father, earning a hearty laugh from him.
"Happy birthday, my dear March."
He held out a small velvet box, as he opened it, a catch of silver caught March's eye.
"Papa, you didn't have to..."
"But if I didn't, I couldn't have lived with myself if I hadn't fulfilled your only wish for your birthday." Her father clasped a small silver chain around her neck. The chain had only one charm, that of the Indian flag.
"You are a Mercury. Through..." He turned around to place a hand on her shoulder. "... and through."
"I'm gonna miss you."
"I'll miss you too, dear, but that's why I planned ahead. You don't have to miss me at all."
"What do you mean?"
"What would you think if I brought you with me to America?"
"I'd love to go!"
"March Clara Mercury, you resemble me in ways I will never truly understand. But you have your differences, which is what makes you, March, not Mary Austin."
The young girl smiled. She had a canny resemblance to her father, with dark hair and dark eyes, with fair olive complexion, but her mother's heart, soft doe eyes, her brain, and wit.
However, her voice was powerful, as March hoped to be like her father. Be a singer, write music, perform for massive audiences. Queen was sensational, but Freddie Mercury was legendary, even more so in his personality.
"Get dressed, darling, guests will be here soon."
"Yes Papa." March sprinted upstairs, into Romeo's room to give him a quick pet and grab the jacket he was laying on.
She flooded to her room across the hall, and put on her planned outfit, a rainbow, and black and white striped long-sleeved shirt, with a black pleather skirt, complemented with a belt of chains and charms. And her favorite, a set of glam rock boots, with the UK's flag on it.
By the time she'd put her hair into 80s curls, at least a hundred people had flooded into the Mercury estate. March poked her head around the corner of the stairs.
She saw her father hug a man and a quick kiss on the cheek, as she made her way over to them.
"Papa..." She looked at the the other man. "Paul..." She shook the man's hand, already in a bad mood.
"I'm going off to find Philip, I promised I'd see him tonight."
She turned around, only to hear Paul snicker, and the noise of a kiss.
"Excuse me, pardon me, I'm terribly sorry, just I need to through, yes, excuse me... Philip!"
The two teens attached, only to pull to the side to grab one another's hand.
