It never happened

-Kenzie's POV-

I woke up on my bed with my head aching. I flipped over to find Maddie hovering over me.

"How's your-"

"Nothing happened last night, okay?" I cut her off.

"Okay." She whispered.

I rubbed my eyes and when I stopped, Maddie was gone. I got up and walked out into the hallway. I stopped dead in my tracks.

4 more crosses were gone.

The one above Nia's door, the one above Kendall's door, the one above Christi and Kelly's door, and the one above Jill and Hollys door. There was only 4 crosses left: the one above my door, the one above Maddie's door, the one above moms door, and the one above the bathroom.

I heard voices in Maddie's room. I peeked through the hole in the wall. Mom was holding an axe that she found in Maddie's room, and she was yelling at Maddie. Maddie looked like she was crying, and there was a pile of something next to her.

I gasped.

The pile next to her was a pile of crosses, and the axe mom was holding was the axe that Maddie chopped them off the wall with.

Mom stormed out and slammed the door behind her. Maddie slowly walked out of her room and I was there to grab her hand and we walked down to breakfast together.

"Ohmygod! Kenzie what happened you your... Face?" Nia shrieked. I glanced at Maddie and she was looking down.

"I don't know, I must have hit my head in my sleep." I lied. Maddie looked relieved. I zipped my lips with my fingers, and she smiled.

The next morning, the van came.
