This beauty is the "Pelagius Drinking Song." Fitting, seeing as we're in a tavern at the moment. :D

The man from the other table decided to finally come over after staring at the two for quite some time. "So," he said, "I hear you both are in need of a mentor."

Du'ling rolled her eyes. "Well now, how'd you know?" she said under her breath.

Tu'f shushed her and said to the man, "Why yes we are. Are you one? Could you help us with our quest?"

"Well now, that depends. What is your name and what is this quest you speak of?"

"Well," said Tu'f, "I'm Tu'f and in a nutshell, it's basically a big treasure hunt told in story form that has to have just enough exciting moments to keep it interesting, but doesn't actually put people in real danger. If that happened, the story would be awful and no one would read it."

The man stared at him. "No, I meant your quest. What is your quest?"

"Oh... Yeah, I'm not so sure about that. What exactly are we doing, Du'ling?"

She rolled her eyes for the second time. "We're trying to find a way to defeat the evil tyrant who's on the throne at the moment. Ya want to join us?"

"Hmm, let me think... I say no."

Du'ling looked incredulous. "But why not? A little adventure never hurt anyone!"

"There's a small matter of pay."

"Sir, with all due respect, you said you'd be a mentor. Mentors don't get paid," Tu'f explained, looking him over. "As a matter of fact, you look more like a mercenary."

The man rubbed his hands together gleefully. "Well now, let's go with that. This way, I can get paid."

They nodded. Tu'f motioned to the stool next to him. "Have a seat. We're still waiting for our food, but if you haven't ordered yet, you probably should."

"Oh, I already did. I got the bread, cheese and stew! Sounds like it's a speciality here."

Du'ling sighed and buried her head in her hands. "Tell me about it."

The formerly indignant bar-maid returned, bearing trays upon trays of stew. "Here ya go boy. Now, did you have the fruit as well?" She handed him a heaping bowl of thick and savory stew. It smelled delicious, even to Du'ling.

The barmaid handed a bowl of stew to Du'ling, along with her bread and cheese. "Ya'll enjoy now, ya here?"

Tu'f said nothing. He had already dived into what can only be described as a heavenly bowl of stew.
