HEADS UP:

I changed Camden McMahan's name to Griffin Mcmahan.

And sorry for the wait!!

Thankfully, Declan's friends didn't mention what had happened yesterday. I think Declan kept expecting someone to bring it up. The only reason they would, would be if I had started to act "mental". That's when they would surely tell Declan to dump me and remove me from his life. Not that he'd listen. Hopefully.

During the day, whenever Declan and I would normally hang out or sit together, I avoided him. I even made a point of removing his arm from around my waist as we walked to the cafeteria. Griffin, of all people, noticed this. And, being the head-jerk, he had to make a comment about it.

"You two lovebirds in a fight or something?" He raised an eyebrow at us.

Declan looked at me questioningly. I sighed. He didn't even know if we were in a fight or not.

"Just mind your own business, Griffin." I snapped, striding forward and going to meet Avery in line for food.

The line, thankfully, had managed to get shorter in the time that it took for me to arrive. So when I joined Avery, we were near the front. I grabbed a tray and placed several food items on it before walking to my usual table with Avery.

Once we reached our table, I may have slammed my tray onto the table. I felt something brush down my leg as I did so, but just thought it was a napkin. Because everyone was talking, no one heard it., thankfully, or else I would've received another "mental" remark from Declan.

"What's wrong?" Avery asked, stuffing herself with a turkey sandwich.

"Nothing." I sighed, eating my slice of pizza.

"Declan's just being his usual self, you know." She said, gulping down her water.

"No, he's not. He's being an ass and he knows it." I frowned.

"Maybe he's just worried about you." She shrugged.

"Declan doesn't seem one bit worried about me.

"What do you mean?"

"You know what I mean. He's just worried about his reputation. He can't have a messed up girlfriend if he's going to be one of the star basketball players."

"You're not one bit messed up. And sure, he could be a bit more sensitive, but he's a guy. He's not going to worry about the little things that might scare his girl." She rolled her eyes at me, like I should've figured that out myself.

"But you'd think he'd consider how I might feel after being abducted." I nearly shouted.

"Calm down, Carson. I'll talk to Declan at home, okay?"

"Thanks."

I bit on the inside of my cheek, a sometimes painful nervous habit I had, knowing I shouldn't get too worked up. If I shouted, that would surely draw the attention of at least one person. And I did not like being the center of attention. Nope. I preferred being the shy girl that I was known as.

Sighing, I just picked at my food until the bell rang. Good ole food, always occupying you when you're bored or just don't want to talk with another human being. I dumped my tray of food in the trash and walked to my locker. Declan intercepted me before I had a chance to open it up, though.
