Another horrible thing in my life? School. At least I had my boyfriend and best friend there with me.
My night with Declan was pretty uneventful. I just fell asleep and when I woke up, I was wrapped in his arms. Sure, we shared a few kisses but that's to be expected, right? One thing did happen, though. My mom walked in on one of our more, um, passionate kisses. Embarrassing, much? She gave me this whole lecture once he left.
Back to the subject of school. Can't say I felt that much better surrounded my all the kids. The man who kidnapped me looked no older than twenty. For all I knew, he was eighteen and went to my high school: Worthington Prep--School For The Snobby. Joking. The name may seem all fancy, but the school sucks. Like, seriously. Anyone who goes there changed the slogan to: Where All Your Dreams...Die!
All of my teachers had gave me a look of pity when they saw me. In turn, I gave them a big smile. I think that freaked them out more than if I had broken down into hysterics. They were probably expecting a insecure girl who looked distraught. Psh. Since when did I look insecure?
Throughout my class, I heard people whispering that I was the "teacher's-pet". What were we in? Second grade? But, I didn't blame them. I didn't have to do any of my homework from last week and somehow, they found out. Not that it was that hard to find out things in this high school. Secrets are like the plague. They spread everywhere and eventually everyone finds out.

While I was in the hallway waiting for Avery, someone came behind me, wrapping their arms around my waist. I nearly jumped out of my skin. Declan chuckled softly in my ear. Sighing in relief, I spun around and, stepping on my tiptoes, lightly kissed him before backing out of his arms.
"Still scared?" He asked, grabbing hold of my hand.
"It's just that he could be a student at this school." I furrowed my brow.
Avery thankfully came over soon. I was beginning to worry that she forgot that we were eating lunch together. Then, I saw the boys behind her. I inwardly groaned. It was some of Declan's basketball teammates. I don't know why, but all good sports players were jerks. The only thing they had in common with others was the hate for this school. I couldn't believe Declan was even their friend. But thank god I was his girlfriend. Otherwise, I'd be treated like crap just like everyone else in this school.
"Hey Carson, Avery." Avery and I received a nod from Griffin "Griff" McMahan, head jerk. He was a senior, like most of the boys on Declan's basketball team. Only Declan and about five other guys were juniors.
Avery and and I both waved a small "hello". We didn't exactly associate with them unless we were forced to do so. Or unless we lost our minds.
"You going to eat lunch with us, Declan?" Griffin asked.
"I was actually planning on eating lunch with Carson." Declan replied aplogetically.
"Have her join us." Patrick "Ricky" Davidson, second-head jerk, suggested. He was also a senior.
"Babe?" I hated when he called me "babe". I knew he only did it because he was in front of them, though, so I didn't get mad.
"I'll just eat with Ave." I sighed, annoyed at this point because I really wanted to eat.
"Actually, I was planning on eating with--" Avery started.
"No, no. It's fine. Just ditch me in my time of panic." I snapped.
"Time of panic?" Griffin asked, cocking his eyebrow.
"It's just a silly girl thing." I quickly lied. "Now, let's go eat."
