Chapter 8- Firsts

Alexa's POV

A couple weeks later, my mom came out of the hospital. She was okay but she needed surgery on her leg. Devon was drunk while he was driving and of course he hit my mom out of all people. When I see Liam we're talking about Devon and all this bullshit!

It was Sunday and I was in my room finishing up last minute homework. There was a knock on my door and my mom peeked in. " um lex? Could we talk? Sorry to disturb you." " It's okay mum. What's up."

She same over and sat on my bed. " I haven't been honest with you lately. When I've been 'late' at work or going out...I've been um...seeing someone." I was shocked. " As in dating?" I asked. She nodded. " Tell me all about it!" She smiled. " His name is Paul. He's very sweet and he works at a similar company as me." I thought about my dad and my brother. " Mom...what about... Dad and Louis ...?" She looked down and shook her head. " I don't know honey. I've tried and tried to find them but it's no use! I know it's hard but I've done all I can do ." I nodded. She hugged me and left the room.

Liam's POV

Ugh morning already. Wait it's Monday... tomorrow is Tuesday... it's me and Alexa's 1 month anniversary. Damn I have nothing planned! Maybe I'll ask Zayn about it. He's romantic...I guess.

I went downstairs and my mom was at the table asleep with a pen and all kinds of documents in front of her. She needs to go to her bed and I need to ask her about the papers. " Mum...hey mum wake up." She rose her head as I pointed to the papers with a confused look. She sighed and said, " Bring Alexa home with you after school today. I want to talk to you both about these. It's pretty serious." I nodded nervously and left for school.

Alexa's POV

On my way to lunch an arm pulled me aside. Great not again with the drama before lunch! I realized it was Liam and I smiled. " Hey babe!" I leaned in to kiss him but he just pecked my lips. He didn't look himself. " C'mon tell me everything. We'll sit alone at lunch k?" He nodded and kissed me. For real this time.

We found a table aside from our usual spot. I mouthed to Britney that I'd explain later. Liam grabbed my hand and looked so deep into my eyes I thought he'd drown in them. " Lex...my mom wants you to come over right away after school today. It's about these documents she had this morning. I don't know what they're about and I'm really nervous and it's our anniversary tomorrow and I hav-" I cut him off with a kiss. " Liam. It's fine! Don't be nervous! I'll be with you the whole time! "

" Okay. Thanks Lex. You really are the best girlfriend a guy could have."

The bell rang so we all headed to class. Me and Liam are separated until the end of the day so we said goodbye and walked to our lockers.

Liam's POV

I rushed to get my things so I could talk to Zayn. I saw him talking to Dariana so I waited with my back against the lockers. When they FINALLY finished kissing I walked over to Zayn.

" Hey." " Oh hey Liam! How's it goin'?" " Good. I actually wanted to ask you about something. It's a little weird but I figured you'd be the best to ask." " Sure what do you need?" He asked. " Well tomorrow is me and Alexa's 1 month anniversary and I need some tips on what to do. I have some family problems going on so I haven't had time to prepare." He smiled. " Dude I totally got you. All you gotta do is do something fancy, but not too done up. Make it simple, yet very effective. Take her for dinner then do something relaxing at home." Wow. Genius! " Thanks bro I'll do that."

Alexa's POV

We both sat down at Liam's kitchen table as we waited for Karen to come out from the bathroom. I held Liam's hand in mine and i whispered in his ear " It'll be fine. We got this shit babe." He laughed at my statement and Karen sat across from us.
