Alice's POV
I stepped into baggage claim, looking for the tote that had everything to keep my life normal within it. I had taken Lawrence, my alpaca pillow pet with me onto the plane, he was snuggled under my arm for safe keeping. I stood by the conveyor belt, a group of men with prominent beards with so much diversity I couldn't help but stare. A man with a curly blonde beard glared at me, despite his Shirley temple chin, he spoke with a thick Scottish accent.
"What the fuck you looking at mate?" He stroke the curls while advancing. His eyes never left me, so I knew that this man was probably completely insane. "Fuckin' alpaca girl, you jealous mate?" I backed away as quickly as I could, whilst running into somebody. I turned to face a red headed teenager with cute dimples.
She smiled, "Its okay, doll," and went on her way to avoid any further conflict.
I felt a little better after that, but not much, after all, there was still an angry blonde male after me. I rushed to get to my bag when it came onto the conveyor belt, but in order to do that, I had to go around him which proved to be a challenge. Target acquired. I turned slightly to the left of the man, when he seemed distracted by an apricot he was staring at seductively, but curiously not eating. "Zesty" I heard his whisper much to my horror and discomfort. I really didn't want to know what his situation was, so I carefully slid past him to gather my belongings and went on my merry way. I felt around in my pocket to find my iPhone, and text Dan.
"Where are u?"
Very near me I heard a ringer go off, so generally I turned in that direction. I saw two tall men- one slightly taller then the other, talking distractedly to a group of about seven girls, it was kind of crazy. All of the girls were my age or younger, and all of them were unreasonably close to the guys. They were about five yard away, so I could see detail- and I knew that one of those men were Dan. I walked over, using techniques to push through the crowd.
"Excuse me." I muttered multiple times to the glowers I received.
"Wait your turn" A short pink-haired girl with dimple piercings hissed. I raised an eyebrow.
"I do what I want." I responded whilst not giving a fuck. This is multitasking. When I had gotten close enough, I saw the one I assumed was Dan had a hand written sign tucked under his arm in the very fashion Lawrence was tucked under mine. I was close now, only a foot away, and he looked down.
"Ah, Alice." I looked up and we locked eyes. The other man, who I had never seen in my life, tapped Dan on the shoulder, made brief eye contact, and seemed to have a telepathic conversation through facial expressions with him. Dan looked at me again, and Phil led the girls away to 'talk to them'. When they were gone a wide grin crossed Dan's face. "Welcome to England." He didn't mention the girls, or the other man. "I assume you will be living with me, and...Phil!" The ebony haired man walked over, this time not pursued by young females. "Alice, this is Phil, my best friend and flatmate. Phil, this is Alice, my sister whom I know nothing about except the fact that we share DNA."
"Hello Phil, Dan's best friend and flatmate." I smiled while he embraced me. I'm a very huggable person- I love hugs- so receiving one from a literal stranger wasn't a problem at all for me. Phil laughed.
"It's nice to meet you! Wow," He glanced at me, and then at Dan, "You two look so much alike."
"Nah...well...yeah." Dan and I replied at the same time.
"Jinx!" was the appropriate response at this time. I took advantage of that. In the mean time we began to walk towards the exit. For the first time in my life I saw the grand city of London. I don't think that I've ever been happier. We hailed a taxi, and all piled in. I was trying to get used to drivers driving on the left side of the road, but I couldn't wrap my mind around it. I was sitting on the right side, with Dan on the left, Phil rode shotgun, but he was looking back the whole time.
"There is a few things we are going to have to clear up once we get home." Dan stated with a glance in my direction. "Some issues will need to be addressed."
I knew that this was a talk that was unavoidable, I was very happy that Dan didn't want to beat around the bush, I was the same way. It was a long Taxi ride, but I took the time to study Dan and Phil, it was strange really, that neither of them said much. I noticed Dan eyeing the cabby wearily as if he was frightened that conversation would be started. He spent most of his time looking out the window, or looking at me, studying my face as I was doing to him. It didn't seem odd to me. Phil spent the ride making attempts at conversation. I hoped that I didn't seem too standoffish, I really just didn't have much to say- my mind was whirling about what had happened in the last fifteen hours.
I hadn't even said goodbye to Luke.
