The street. Where fate could pull ponies together and pull ponies apart all the same. vinyl found herself there and this time she had nowhere to stay but the streets. To Vinyl, she knows the streets and doesn't mind them but at this given moment she really doesn't want to go to them but has no choice. With her magical saddle bag around her waist and her purple shades on she walked the cold streets til the sun went down. She illuminated her horn for light and continued to search for an empty street to sleep on. A cardboard box is all you can get for shelter and body heat is all you can have for warmth. Vinyl curled herself up in a ball and pulled the box flaps over to try to keep the warmth in and some cold air out but after a few attempts she found it useless and gave in.

She shivered all night, her muzzle red and her hooves numb. The night was long but was soon over when the sun rose a little warmth glided into Vinyl's box woke her up to find a blanket was put around her, she rolled over to look up out of her box to find he pony who helped her out. No pony was around but a warm cup of coffee was left outside her box, "T-thank you." She said shaking as she lifted the cup up with her hooves feeling the warmth of the drink pour down her throat warming her insides. She sighed at the warmth inside her and remembered how Octavia made her coffee every morning and yelling at her for bringing the blanket from the bedroom into the living room. She laughed to herself and looked at the pony staring at her, she smiled at Vinyl and walked on; everypony walked past her but she didn't mind as long as she had someone's kindness she didn't mind.

She got up wondered where to go next, she has no home and Octavia's place is off limits due to her being under house arrest - unless she needs to go to work. She looked out of her closed of street and into the populated ones, so early in the morning it was but ponies were walking around searching for something unknown to her. She crept out of hiding and into the sun's rays of light. Ponies stopped to stare at her walking down the street holding her cup of now lukewarm, half empty coffee in her hoof. She started to get annoyed at all the eyes of disgust looking her down their noses at her. "Take a picture, it'll last longer." Vinyl said to the crowd following her, "Are you DJ PON-3?" A filly spoke up from the crowd and came forward, "Why was you sleeping in a box?" Vinyl avoided eyecontact and fet guilt welling up in her throat,
"My friend was remaking my room and I said I'd sleep in my other friends but they said 'not right now' so..." She looked down at the filly and then at the crowd, "Point is, I had nowhere to go." She turned around and walked in the direction of her club, however the crowd followed her and she picked up the pace. Soon she was running to her club and as she reached the door she whizzed inside, locked the door and pulled down the blinds to hid away from the public.

She looked away from the door to see the staff looking at her, "You ok?" They asked as they came closer to her; Vinyl, in response, curled up and shivered and the staff took a step back. "Sorry if we startled you DJ. You can play tonight right?" The owner asked as he went up to her alone and held out a hoof for support, "Thanks.." She replied sheepishly and then walked past the employees to the toilets and splashed water on her face, "You ok?" One of the employees asked as she walked out of he toilets, "I'm fine just have no home now." The employees looked at one another and then at Vinyl, "Spare room upstairs if u want it. Anything for you." Vinyl smiled as they turned their backs on her. She considered the offer but hand no heart to decline with her mood already too low.

She got out of her club and wandered to Octavia's house; she sighed then saw a hoof becoming her to the open window. She crept closer to get pulled inside and squeezed in he arms of Octavia. Vinyl cried as she was held by her and Octavia held in her tears, "I'm sorry for what I did to you." Octavia spoke and Vinyl looked up to her as Octavia wen to speak again, "Will you forgive me DJ PON-3?" Vinyl backed away and looked around to see the cop on the couch. Octavia put her hoof on Vinyl's cheek and Vinyl nodded, "I already have." The cop got up and left the two mares alone, yet they both had to watch her waltz her way down he road and disappear into the blue.

Vinyl celebrated that she and Octavia weren't alone from each other but Octavia just went to her room. Vinyl followed as she unpacked box after box, hanging photo after photo back onto the wall. Vinyl put her hoof over her mouth feeling touched as Octavia sang a song that Vinyl had loved as photos of her and Octavia was back up onto the walls. Back where they belong.
