Cherubs pov(80% of book)
I, a newborn. Are only supposed to open their eyes. I am a week old, a little Abyssinian and Tabby mix. But I look like an Ahyssinian more. And Fire is more Tabby relevant but some Abyssinian ticking and markings. He has more black on him though. I have more faun colouring though.
I woke up, stretching, not seeing where my paws etc. Went. But almost instantly after I woke up, I suckled mum. Two kits is easier then 5 so we took advantage. Once I was full and ready, it was the big moment. I opened my eyes! So did Fire, but that was three days ago. My eyes are green and his are yellow golden.
Dad always watches us, his handsome Aby build was passed onto Fire, he was sure to be a big stud! But me, I had mums elegant, slim build. More of a good hunter. After a while, dad padded up to Fire, just chatting to him. Talking about training and making good impressions.
Mum focused on our health then, emotional health. "Mum, I'm ready to go outside." I want to start training soon, we start young.
Dad is a whole male, only meant to breed with the queens. The fighters and hunters are sworn to never mate.
Dad turned around to me, his amber eyes filled with amazement. "I was thinking you'd be a soft little queen, Cherub. But okay, I will talk to the lead whole male and lead queen." He growled.
I shifted my paws, quite hurt by dad's rude comment.
Mum sighed, knowing dad is rude.
Fire snickered, sticking his tongue out at me. I groomed my pelt.
