Walking into the grand spacious room, Pete bowed down to show respect and smiled brightly at his mother and father. The king and queen nodded back, their faces gleaming with pride at Pete.
" Prince, you know that you will be eighteen soon."
Pete nodded at his father," Yes, of course."
His mother wiped her eyes which were brimming with tears and quietly said," And soon you'll be the king. And to be a king, you need a queen."
Pete went this over in his head, queen repeating in his mind, and gasped when he suddenly realized something. The party that would be happening tonight was a bachelor party, where he could mingle with all the princesses to choose his favorite one. He didn't feel too good about this party anymore. It wasn't that he was unsocial, but he always thought that he would meet his special someone by chance instead of a party where he was forced to pickpocket a single person out.
His parents, on the other hand, were excited and pumped for the party. They hoped to see their beloved son find his true love and possibly make grandchildren, but after the wedding of course.
Just when Pete was settling down after hearing the shocking secret behind the party he assumed was a birthday party, his mother held up her hand and motioned her personal servant to come to her. She whispered something in his ear and the servant nodded, getting in position at the entrance to the room, ready to announce something.
The servant took a deep breathe and shouted," Princess Chaaim, accompanied by royal servant Ae, are joining us for a talk!"
Pete hearing Ae name turned his head around, but all he was greeted by was a girl who had bouncy brown hair and was wearing a smooth silk dress that hugged her waist tightly and give her bosom a round curve. Her makeup was done lightly, only using highlights to exaggerate her Sharpe cheeks and lips. She smiled softly and curtsied," Your highness Pete. Princess Chaaim of the South District.''
Pete awkwardly smiled and nodded back, glancing over at his parents who were gushing over how perfect they were for each other. Ae came to the right of Chaaim and raised one of his eyebrows at Pete, teasing him for being a klutz.
Pete coughed loudly to attract everyone's attention and he questioned with a smile," What are they doing here?"
Chaaim blushed furiously, thinking Pete didn't want her to be there, but in reality, he was just frustrated at the fact that too many things were happening all at once. The queen and king laughed quietly to themselves, thinking how adorable it was to see Pete getting mad. The queen finally said between laughs," Chaaim is the daughter of my good friend Lady Kutan. They have requested she stay here for a while, and oh how Kutan picked a good time! For now theres a chance you might end up with Chaaim!"
After a few more moments of talking, the king gave permission for Pete and everyone else to leave because he said that the queen and Chaaim would be spending the afternoon together to prepare for the party.
Leaving the marvelous room, Pete sighed in exhaustion and defeat. He didn't want to marry yet, what was so hard to get about that? He wanted to find someone he loved and cherished, not someone he knew for a measly 3 hours.
" Hey there. What are you thinking about?"
Pete jumped in surprise and snapped his head around, startled at the fact that Ae's face was a few centimeters away. He backed up slowly and blushed lightly, which he hid by quickly patting his cheek with with his left hand.
Ae grabbed his hand, with a serious look on his face. He brought it to his face to inspect, before lightly letting go of it," Jesus, don't slap yourself. It might hurt your soft hand and cheeks."
Pete shuffled his feet in nervousness, not knowing why he was feeling this way," Well, I'm truly so sorry. Anyway, why were you so quiet in the room?"
Ae chuckled at his sarcastic remark but chose to ignore it and answer the question," Where would my manners be if a servant like me dares talk to a king or queen like a friend. Heck, I won't even be able start conversations with them, we have nothing in common."
Pete patted Ae's shoulders lightly and smiled ," Do you know why my parents let me walk so carefree around here? With no bodyguards?"
" No. Why?"
"Because they trust everyone. They trust everyone so much, they are willing to put me out in the open. And even though it sounds harsh, I don't mind because it shows how much trust we gained and gave to our people."
Ae stayed silent for a second and gave a shy smile, which surprised Pete because it was the first time he saw Ae be nervous.
" How about we take that walk you promised me now? While everyone else is distracted, let me spend time with you."
Pete glanced over at Ae," Why? We could spend time anytime, anywhere."
"But you are a prince, while I'm merely a servant. Doesn't look very appealing."
Pete frowned in distaste," Ae, don't be silly. I spend time with people cause I like them. Now lets go on this walk and forget we ever had this conversation!"
And with a huff, Pete walked toward the exit where he knew the royal garden was located. Looking back, he grinned at Ae and said," Coming?"
And although in that moment it looked as though they were two friends who were having fun and chatting, there was something growing in one of the boy's heart. Ae was overwhelmed at having met such a cute boy, but since he was a natural at his obviousness, he knew he said some harsh words to Pete when he first met him. But even if this was the second time they spoke to each other, he could feel his heartbeat speed up, especially when Pete grinned at him.
" God, its only been a mere hour and a half and I've already fallen for him. What the hell is wrong with me?"
And with that, Ae jogged after Pete, stopping beside him and talking about random stuff. Getting to know each other, that's all.

I'm sorry if they don't have scenes of smashing teeth together, but I want to represent this story as a little more realistic.
