The first day and you're running late. No matter how many alarms, or how many times you check the time, you're always late. Practice was supposed to start in 15 minutes and you still had to get ready.
You're especially excited for today's dance practice, finally beginning to take significant steps towards your dreams. Dreams that you have trained your whole life for. All to be a dancer. Now, after countless audition, landed yourself a spot in BigHit's new girl group, IMD. The though of debuting under such a prestigious company and training with your idols, BTS, was more than exciting.
Quickly, you throw on a cute green cropped sweatshirt and black athletic leggings and sprint out of the dorm, grabbing a energy bar as breakfast. While it's not part of the intense diet you're supposed to follow, it would serve its purpose. On my way there, you tie you hair into a messy bun and hope for the best.
The rest of your group is already here along with the BTS members. You quickly greet them with a bow before taking your place in the formation they were working in.
"Welcome IMD! We're honored to be sharing a studio with you all!" Namjoon begins, "So lets get started with some basic choreography to get you warmed up."He gestures for the dance line of their group to begin practice. As they take their places in front and your heart begins to race. They are all amazingly talented which is why you idolized them so much.
"If you guys didn't already know, we are BTSs dance line. I'm Hoseok and this is Jungkook and Jimin." You feel a blush heating up your cheeks as they scan the group.
"Which of you is the main dancer?" Jimin asks, trying to sound confident. Anyone can tell he's nervous teaching the group even though he's a better dancer than you could ever hope to be.
Your group points to you and you're immediately embarrassed for an unknown reason. Ally, the leader of the group, responds before you can.
"Y/N has always been the best. She's made some pretty great covers to some of your guy's dances." The flush on your cheeks deepens and moves up to the tips of your ears as you stare at the floor.
"Jimin-ah why don't you work on teaching Y/N her part. Jungkook you can take the second line and I'll take the back." Hoseok's words send chills up your spine. The first day of practice and I'm working one on one with Park Jimin. A nervous look flashes over his face before he regains control. He pulls you over to the corner of the room and hands you a head piece.
"What's this for?"
"So you can hear the music. With this many people in one studio, it can get confusing." He offers an eye smile that makes your heart flutter.
He places the other ear piece into his own ear before hitting play. The first notes of the song immediately spark your memory as your body follows the beat with liquid grace. Jimin does the same. You occasionally glance in the mirror to see his reactions. It's amazing how regardless if he's performing or not, he always gives his all. Your motions blend together in perfect sync accompanied by the music only you two can hear. The amount of talent in one corner of the room causes a few glances from the other BTS members and your group. After the better part of 10 minutes, he pauses the music and steps into view from where he was behind you.
"Not bad for being pre debut." He says, a smirk catching the corner of his mouth. "With a little work, you'll be dancing like me in no time." In his attempt to be confident, he turns slightly and covers his face with his hand feeling shy. You smile slightly at the gesture. The next two hours are spent learning choreography with Jimin. At first, following his movements were easy, but as he picked up the pace, it became more difficult to keep up.
You could feel the sweat dripping down your back. Jimin sweeps his wet hair out of his eyes before resuming teaching the choreography. For as long as you've liked BTS, you never realized how attractive Jimin was while working. Your heart beat picks up slightly at the thought, but you convince yourself to ignore it. Jungkook comes over to the corner.
"That was a good practice guys. Do you want to run through it a few times before we let these ladies go?" A smirk creeps at the edges of his mouth from his specific word choice. Jimin stiffly laughs before nodding in approval.Your group's debut song blasts out of the speakers. Adrenaline rushes through your veins as you hit the first move as hard as possible. You want to make Jimin proud even though you've barely worked with him. Aside from being a dancer, you got a decent portion of the song's best rap lines. This left you in the middle for a good part of the dance. All eyes fell on you during your time in the center. You focused on carefully doing the moves in time with the music, and it goes well with minimal mistakes.
By the time the music faded out, exhaustion rested behind your eyelids.
"Nice job today Y/N! Me and the guys are going out tonight. Do you want to come with?" Jimin smiled. It took you a second to respond after snapping out of the daze caused by his sudden compliment.
"Oh...umm... that sounds great!" Immediately you panic not know what you were going to wear.
"Cool! I'll pick you up later." Jimin turns and walks away with the rest of the guys.
"Ooh! Looks like the maknae got a date!"
You turn to your best friend, Kelly, worry in your eyes.
"I'm gonna need some serious help."
