High school, ninth grade, A whole new school. My family had moved from California to Massachusetts for business reasons. I didn't know anyone there. A 14 year old girl with no friends, and nothing to do in a brand new town. When i got to school that morning the first thing I noticed was a group if girls staring at me. These girls looked like they ran the school or something so of course I didn't say anything, me being the awkward girl I am. I walked around to meet my new teachers and find my class. My first class, band. I play the oboe, not that i'm good at it or anything. When I got to class i noticed something, a boy, a tall yet awkward looking boy. He played the saxophone. I watched him as we went to ask the teacher a question. He wasn't bad looking at all, in fact he was actually quite adorable. Band class started and you could tell right away that the teacher, Mrs. Thorn-hopper was one of those laid back teachers. When Mrs. Thorn-hopper introduced herself I wasn't really paying attention. I couldn't keep my eyes off that boy. When the teacher took attendance i said my name "Maria Baxter". To my surprise the mystery boy was next. "Robert Burnham, But everyone calls me Bo." Bo. I liked that name, It sounded sensitive yet Manly in a weird way. When we started playing I was watching Bo most of the time. I thought it was cute how every time he play his reed would squeak. I noticed him look over at me about halfway into the song, which through him off a little bit so he got lost in the song. It was adorable the way he lost himself in a song. Mrs. Thorn-hopper told us to find a partner to switch instruments with. You could see everyone look at each other but no one looked at me. Every one had found a partner. Except me, and Bo. Mrs. Thorn-hopper put me and Bo together since we were the last two. I felt like Bo didn't want to be stuck with the new girl so I kinda just stayed in the shadows, awkward, Bo came up to greet me "Hi i'm Bo." He said with a friendly smile while slightly blushing. "Hi i'm Maria" I said awkwardly. Bo came straight out and said "I saw you staring at me earlier."
