" Oh" I said while the butterflies built up in my stomach. Just the thought of Bo made me smile. "Yeah" He said. I felt extremely humiliated at the fact that Bo probably already thought I was a freak. He spoke "I don't think it is weird or anything, I mean, I don't really know anyone here." "Neither do I!" I said excitedly. I blushed. "Oh well I mean we know each other, I guess" Said Bo. I blushed. Just the fact that he would try to talk to me made me the happiest person in the world. "So, I guess we should start with the assignment." I said in a nervous sounding voice. He gave me his saxophone. Of course when I first tried to play it, I sucked. Bo tried to play my Oboe. "Oboes are hard man, That double reed always squeaks on me." I giggled. Bo's voice was so comforting to listen to. "Have you played oboe before?" I asked. His response was "I tried last year but I switched to Saxophone because my oboe squeaked way to much." "Yeah, It takes a while to learn." I said. I looked Bo in the eyes. His eyes seemed to give off a friendly vibe. Mrs. Thorn-hopper gave us a homework assignment. "Whoever your partner was today is your partner in the Music Joins Hands project. I thought in my head "yes! a chance to get close to Bo!" The project was about how music can bring people together. It wasn't a very big project but it was a project. "Do you wanna meet up at my house after school to start working on our project?" Said Bo. "Yeah sure! Uh I mean, Yeah seems cool." I said. I couldn't wait for the day to be over! Second period, science, came. Mr. Beasley. He wasn't a bad teacher but he wasn't a good teacher either. Third period, Math, Mrs. Hocking. She was a very strict teacher. If you breathed the wrong way she will yell at you. Lunch. Everyones favorite. I sat by myself since i didn't know anyone there. I saw Bo with his lunch. He almost got the same thing I got, a turkey sandwich with green beans and a fruit cup! He got mashed potatoes instead of green beans. "Maria!" I heard him say. "Do you mind if i sit with you?" He asked. I gave him the best response I could "Yeah go ahead." He started off by saying "so what kind of things are you interested in?" "Well I can sing. I love music" I said. "What do you like?" "Comedy" He said. That was strange? I don't know a lot of people who enjoy comedy. "I write music too like comedy songs not real songs they put on the radio" He said *ring* "oh no" I said. "Time to get to class, I'll see you around?" He asked "Yeah." I said. The fact that Bo wanted to see me again made my day so much better. A few more periods went by and the day ended. I walked home with Bo that day. "What kind of comedy do you like?" I asked trying to make conversation. "Well I like mostly anything but Robin Williams had been a big inspiration for me." He replied. "I love Robin! He is super funny." I said. We got to his house after a few minuets of awkward silence. We walked through the door. "It isn't much but it sure is something." Said Bo. His house was beautiful. It wasn't big and it wasn't small it was just right. His mother walked into the room. She greeted us with friendly eyes. "Hello. Who might this be Bo?" Said Mrs. Burnham. I butted in with "I'm Maria Baxter. Your son and I were assigned to do a project together." "Oh well its nice to meet you Maria." She said. "The pleasure is all mine." I said. I wanted to make the best impression I could. We hung out for a few minuets in his living room. "Want to come up to my room?" He asked. "Sure, why not." I said. We walked up the creaky old stairs and into his room. I noticed he had a piano and guitar in his room. I asked if he played. "I'm learning piano right now. I know how to play guitar." Wow. I honestly was amazed at the fact that he could handle three instruments. We hung out for a few hours and talked about our dreams and life goals. "I hope I become a famous comedian one day." He said in an anxious voice. "I'm sure you will if you really want too. I want to be a singer or musician." I said. "I like working with music too. Do you think music would work in comedy?" He asked. "Anything works with comedy if you make it work." I said. That was probably the corniest thing I have ever said. "I guess your right. You know your actually cooler than I thought." He said with a kind voice. "Haha thank you. Your pretty cool yourself." I said. "Do you wanna make this a regular thing?" He asked. "What?" I said. He said "You know hanging out all the time, and hey maybe I can even show some of my comedy stuff. We can be friends and everything!" "Yeah sure! That seems awesome! I said. I sounded excited on the outside but i wad ecstatic on the inside. The butterflies were building.
