❝ 𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒 𝐀𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐖𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 ❞SWINGING BACK and forth on the rusty looking swing set in the playground, the night air cool against my skin. I wonder if he read the letter by now. I switched off my phone. I was afraid to hear what he had to say. Footsteps approach me, nervous to look up. However, I mustered up the courage before locking eyes with someone I never expected to see. The barista guy. Jin's new boyfriend. I wished for the days to call him my boyfriend but that will never come.
"Mind if I join you?" the barista guy asked.
"It's okay." I mumbled. He took a seat next to me on the swing, huffing slightly.
"You're Kim Namjoon?" he asked, face staring at the sand beneath us.
"Yes..." I was confused about how he knew my name.
"I'm Jung Hoseok." He finally introduced himself to me.
"Nice to meet you." I whispered.
"You know Jin?" Hoseok looks at me.
"Yeah." my voice hitched.
"He's a good guy."
"It's good that he has you in his life." I said.
"What do you mean?"
"I...saw you and him kiss before in the coffee shop." I didn't know how I managed to say that out loud, without my heart aching in my chest.
"He and I, we're not a thing." Hoseok huffed.
"What?"
"He...loves someone. It's not me. We decided to just be friends."
"I'm sorry..."
"Don't be."
"Did he say who the person he loved was?" I asked. Hoseok stands up from the swing, stuffing his hands in his pockets before smiling at me.
"Kim Namjoon." he said, before walking away. It took time to process the truth but I could not believe my ears. He loves me. Jin loves me.
