You woke up and rolled over tiredly. The sun was shining right into your face. How lovely. You groaned and slung your legs over the bed and stood up. You looked at the clock on the wall. Good grief. You smacked yourself in the forehead. It was noon already. You had slept till lunchtime.

Sighing, you put on a robe and tied your unruly hair up into a bun. Besides, it was just Peter, and the chances are, he's not up yet. He never wakes up before ten at home, much less here with the time change and all. So, you yawned and opened the door, trudging down the hall and into the kitchen.

....and then it dawned on you. Loki was here. You froze and turned to go back to your room, but it was too late. You heard his boots striking against the hardwood. "Look who finally decided to join the land of the living." Loki's voice traveled toward you as you turned back around slowly.

"Good morning to you too, Loki." You managed to smile through your embarrassment.

He chuckled at the sight of you. "I see you've adjusted to the time change quite gracefully."

"Shut your pie-hole." You spat back. "Us 'mortals' aren't as proficient as you Asgardians."

His expression changed just the slightest once you said "mortals". You didn't really take any notice to it, but instead, you pushed passed him and stomped into the kitchen. He watched you go, an amused grin playing on his lips. You'd soon find out your capabilities, but for now, you'll have to wait. He followed you into the kitchen and sat down on the bar stool situated at the end of the island. You were rummaging around for something to eat. You'd brought a few things on the plane, including a whole loaf of bread. Why? Because Peter wouldn't eat anything else.

You popped a piece of bread into the toaster and leaned on the island. You made eye contact with Loki. He seemed to be analyzing you and it made you very uncomfortable. You watched as his eyes scanned you, but when his eyes left your face, you got really uncomfortable. You straightened and glared at him. He gave you an innocent smile in return. "What?" He teased.

"You know what, don't play games with me." You hissed before pushing yourself up onto the counter and began swinging your legs absentmindedly.

"Oh, darling, you have no idea what games I play. I assure you, this isn't one of them." He snickered.

You rolled your eyes and ignored him. Peter walked in, rubbing his eyes lazily. "G'morning." He spotted Loki and frowned. "Or bad morning." He sighed and walked over to you. He was wearing Hello Kitty pants and an over-sized NY T-shirt. "(Y/N), can we please kick him out?" He pleaded.

"Peter, we offered to let him-"

"No, you offered to let him stay here."

"So what? It's peaceful here. Not even he can ruin that. It's so nice and quiet and beautiful, Pete! Look outside! Is it not gorgeous? There's no egotistical, moronic, psychopath wreaking havoc!"

"Are you sure about that? There's one sitting at the bar."

Loki opened his mouth to protest to the name-calling, but Peter webbed his mouth shut. "Zip it, Reindeer Games." He used one of Tony's famous nicknames.

"Peter Benjamin Parker!" You sighed and pulled your toast out of the toaster. "Rude." You took a bite, a bit aggressively at that.

Loki finally got all of the webs off of his mouth and pinned Peter against the wall. "You stupid imp."

I swear, I can never get away from stupid men. Ever. You rolled your eyes and put yourself in between the two. "Okay! Back it up people! If either of you try and start a fight, I'll win it. So, just save yourselves the embarrassment of defeat."

"Very well." Loki said through clenched teeth.

"Wonderful!" You clapped your hands together. "Now, I'm going to go hiking." You marched back to your room and threw on some clothes before marching right back out and slamming the front door behind you. Peter watched you go, biting his lip a little. He knew he'd probably get an earful from you when you came back.

Meanwhile, you were already making your way down a little trail, muttering and cursing under your breath. "Anywhere I go, and I mean anywhere, there's some person who always has to ruin everything! I'm in the freaking middle of nowhere in NORWAY and I still can't get away from fighting!" You mumbled some more before running right smack into a tree. "Ow." You rubbed your temple and sighed. You heard faint chuckling echo around you. "Okay, who followed me?" You sat on a fallen tree and shrugged off your backpack.

Loki appeared from behind a tree. "You're clumsy."

"I know that." You sighed, realizing it was hopeless to try and argue with him. "Why'd you follow me? Or are you just casting an illusion?"

"I assure you, I am fully present." He gave a small smile and sat beside you. "As for why I followed you, well, that's another story."

"It's a great time to tell it." You challenged, sitting back on your palms.

He simply sighed and gave you an exasperated look. "You're so clueless it hurts." He leaned toward you and placed a hand on your head. A vision of a strange place took over your mind. You blinked a few times before it became clear. Then you heard a baby's delighted squeal. You looked at the baby and your heart froze. It was you. A man with a white beard was yelling at you and your mother.

The scenery changed again and much younger versions of Loki and Thor were watching as the woman was lead down the bifrost to be banished to earth. She stepped through the portal with you crying in her arms. The vision faded and you were back in Norway. Your heart was racing and your hands were shaking. "My mother was an Asgardian?"

"Not only that, but a Valkyrie. She came to earth to fetch Thor, but she was overcome by it and fell in love with your father. He of course, only wanted sexual relations, and he got it. He turned your mother away and she returned to Asgard with child. When Odin found out, he stripped her of her title and and banished both of you. I came here to bring you back. I never thought it was right to let you take the punishment from your mother's mistakes."

You touched a hand to your mouth, tears forming in your eyes. "Is this some kind of cruel trick you're playing on me?" You managed to squeak out as you were trying to process all of this information.

He shook his head. "No, (Y/N), I promise you, this is real." He had a sympathetic look, but it quickly changed back to an emotionless stare. He knew what it was like, being lied to. Believing you were one thing and finding out you were another. He didn't want it to be as painful for you. Your mother was his friend as a little boy. She taught him how to shoot a bow and arrow.

He shook off the memories and stood. "So, I am here to take you home. Where you belong."

You sprang to your feet. "To Asgard?" He nodded and you gasped excitedly, wiping the tears from your eyes. "Really?" You subconsciously grabbed his hands in your own.

He jumped a little at the sudden contact. "Yes, really." He awkwardly pulled his hands away, unsure of how to handle this situation. You weren't paying any attention. You were pacing, planning on what to say to your family. What would they say? Could they come too? Oh gosh, would they be upset? Surely not. When you turned once more to pace back to your former position, a strong arm wrapped around your waist. Your wide eyes locked with Loki's. He leaned forward and pressed his cool lips to your own.

Too shocked to respond, you just kind of stood there stupidly. He pulled away and released you from his grip. "I've been watching you and waiting to come get you." He said softly, letting down his arrogant façade for a moment.

"To get...me?" You smiled a little and hugged him gently. "Thank you for telling me..."

"I know what it feels like to think you know who you are or what you are, and then to have that ripped away. I wanted you to know you were something much greater than you thought. You're the daughter of a Valkyrie." He took your hand and smiled. "So, may I take you to your birthplace? To where you belong? I promise I'll bring you back whenever you like, and Thor can notify your family of your whereabouts." He started to continue, but you shut him up with a peck on the lips.

"Please just take me there."

He smiled and looked up the sky. "Heimdell, my friend, take us home."
