The sun is high in the sky. Families and couples are all walking about, having the time of their lives. Jimin takes your hand and you walk to the ticket booth. You both look over the prices and options and come to a decision. "We'll take two bands, please."

With the bands, you'll be able to go on unlimited rides. You start pulling out your wallet when Jimin shakes his head, insisting this date is on him.

"But you already paid for the last one. I owe you." You whisper.

"It's ok," He smiles, "Let me treat you, please."

You think it over and acquiesce. 'Next time.' Jimin pays the woman inside the booth and she puts the bands around your left wrists.

"So what do you want to ride first?" You ask, swinging your and Jimin's interlocked hands back and forth.

He thinks it over and replies, "The ferris wheel!"

"But aren't you scared of heights?" You look up at him, studying his expression.

"I feel like I can conquer the world when I'm with you. I'll be ok." He says.

You walk to the line together. It's a five minute wait, which isn't bad considering. Jimin wraps his arms around you from behind as you wait; his body heat melting into you; his breath against your ears and neck. He rests his chin on your head. You close your eyes and let everything around you fade into nothingness. The sound of children screaming disappears so that you can only hear Jimin's heartbeat, which has aligned itself with yours and beats as one. It's as if time has stopped and you and Jimin are the only people in the world. You feel safe in his strong arms. He really meant it when he said he'd keep you safe.

"Tickets please," A man's voice asks, flat and emotionless. You open your eyes and Jimin lets go of you. You show him your bracelets and he tells you to wait a second as they get your passenger car ready. There's only enough room for two people. He makes sure it's completely still and then opens the door for you to get in. Jimin goes in first and then you follow. The man then closes the door and lowers the bar.

There's barely any space between the two of you -- maybe an inch or two. Jimin holds your hand and squeezes it each time you move up. He's nervous, but he looks around excitedly as you get higher and higher. The people below begin to look like ants before you've even reached the top. He lets go of your hand and instead pulls you closer and puts his right arm around your shoulders. You rest your head on his shoulder.

"It's really pretty, hm?" You say quietly. And you mean it. The colors of the fall leaves and the red and orange tops of tents and stands is really aesthetic. The air smells like pumpkins and cinnamon.

"Yeah," You can tell he's smiling, "I'm grateful to be experiencing it with you."

Once you reach the top, he retracts his arm and grabs the safety bar to look down. There's a smile plastered on his face. The wind is ruffling through his hair as he looks at everything below and around you. He almost looks like an excited child. It sends a storm of butterflies through your stomach.

Once the ferris wheel starts to move again, he sits back. He turns his head and meets your gaze. He reaches out to touch your face but pauses, unsure of if he should. You nod your head just the slightest to let him know it's ok. He takes your face in his right hand, his thumb on your cheek and the rest of his hand wrapping around the back of your head. He strokes your cheek with his thumb and begins to lean in. He slowly closes his eyes as he gets closer, and you close yours too. He moves his hand to the back of your head as his lips meet yours. You run your fingers through his hair as he deepens the kiss. He lightly pushes your face closer to his. His lips are soft and his kisses are sweet. It's like your kiss takes him to heaven and he can't get enough. Eventually, you have to pull apart to catch your breath. You blush as you both just stare at each other. Your put your palms together and slowly interlock each finger one at a time. Your gazes never breaking. You lean in again not to kiss, but to put your foreheads together. You both close your eyes and whisper to each other about how much you like each other and wish this would never end. But, eventually, it does.

"Are you hungry?" He asks, after you both get off.

"Yeah, I am actually." You laugh.

You both walk to a food stand, and you order a corn dog while Jimin orders a hamburger. Jimin pays and after a few minutes, Jimin picks the food up and carries it to the table you've saved. He sits across from you and picks up his hamburger. You unwrap your corndog and take a bite. You notice him eyeing your corndog and hold it out towards him. He leans forward and takes a bite, then licks his lips.

"Yummy! Taste mine." He holds out his burger and you take a bite.

"It's really good." You smile.

You eat your food and then throw out the wrappers and remaining trash. "What do you want to do next?" You ask.

"You should choose this time!" He says, reaching his hand out and taking yours in it. He holds your hand up to his lips and kisses it.

"Let's do the haunted house." You suggest.

He smiles and agrees to go with you. There's no line so you go right in. It's almost pitchblack inside and Jimin's grip on your hand tightens. You both look around as your eyes adjust to the darkness. At every turn, there's zombies jumping out, or the sound of a witch cackling, or ghosts flying down from the ceiling. It isn't especially scary, but Jimin's on edge. At every turn, he takes the lead and never lets go of your hand. 'He's trying to act manly and keep me safe,' you realize.

Once you're out, you say, "Let's do something fun this time, like the spinning cups?"

"I really like that idea!" He runs towards the spinning cups, your hand in his.

By the time it's nine thirty, you've ridden everything at least twice. You and Jimin pause to catch your breath. You pull out your phone to check the time. "Jimin, the carnival is gonna close soon. And it's getting late. Maybe we should get back?"

"That's probably a good idea. I had a really fun day today. Thank you." He smiles at you as you start to walk back to the car.
