The Rest of the Story

Part 21:

The next day:

The first thing you do after waking up is call Jimin. You wait anxiously as you listen to the ringback tone plays. One. Two. 'Is he not going to pick up? I'm not sure I can call him a second time.' Right before you're about to give up and hang up, he picks up.

"Y/n, is that you? Are you ok?"

"Hm?" You'd forgotten you'd told him you felt sick, "Oh yeah, I'm much better now."

You can feel him smiling through the phone, "Does this mean I can see you soon?"

You don't reply immediately because you already know the answer but don't want to say it.

"Y/n? You there?" He asks.

"Yeah. I'm here. Can we meet up in two hours? At the cafe where we had our first date?" You suggest.

"That's a great idea," He says happily. "I can't wait to see you."

"I'll see you soon," You reply before hanging up.

You then go onto twitter and pull up the girl's account. She hasn't posted anything lately, but her most recent post is a picture of Jimin smiling with the caption, "I'll make you smile like this. I know I will." You open her dms and report the time and place to her. Within a matter of seconds, she reads it but doesn't reply. You set the phone on your bedside table and lay back on your bed. 'I don't even know if she'll keep her side of the promise. Jimin won't want to see her again, will he? He's definitely going to hate me for this. And I hate myself.' You close your eyes and wish this was just some terrible nightmare.

Part 22:
An hour before you're set to head out, there's a knock on your bedroom door. Two seconds later, the person knocks again. You get up and swing open the door, "Who is it?" You look up and immediately meet Yoongi's eyes.

"It's me."

"What are you doing here?" You ask, walking back over to your bed and sitting down.

"I'm here to stop you from doing something really stupid." He says, kneeling on the ground in front of you.

'Oh shit, he doesn't know does he? There's no way...' "What do you mean?"

"Don't play stupid. I saw you yesterday at the mall. I was going to say something when this girl approached you. I decided to hang around the area and wait till you were done talking. I was close enough to hear what you were saying."

"Well, it's too late now. I already told her where I asked Jimin to wait for me. She's probably on her way as we speak."

"Then we'll have to beat both of them there and hope she shows up before Jimin."

"Are you serious-- there's no way I'm confronting her. She has pictures of me and Jimin. She'll expose everything and ruin his image."

"If you really cared about him, you would know his happiness comes before everything else." He looks down, "And you make him really happy. You have no right telling him who he should and shouldn't date." He looks up again, "So if you want a second chance, if that's even possible at this point, come with me." He stands up.

"Ok. Ok. You're totally right. I've not been thinking rationally. I want to fix this." You get up and throw on a coat.

The both of you rush over to the cafe which is only a few blocks away. You wait a few minutes and then spot the girl a few blocks away.

"You can do this." He squeezes your hand and lets out a sigh, his breath dancing on the cold air.

"What is this?" The girl says as she approaches you.
