Eventually a stressful week went by after that hectic day. Sahir continued to ignore Maya to the point he even ordered the guards to not let her enter his office. He blocked her number and tried to avoid her as much as possible. Sahir couldnt comprehend why his mood never became positive ever since he started ignoring her. It surely killed him inside to do all this, there was a huge part of him that hated to hurt her like this, though he had to, for he would do anything but accept that a part of him felt something for her he supposedly shouldnt. The presence of Maya would only intensify those emotions, emotions he abhorred. No matter how hard he tried, his heart was still restless to see Maya, to have even the slightest glance of her. Sometimes he wondered was she really right? Would he actually be in love with Maya had he not seen her with hatred? The thoughts haunted him everyday, but he tried his best to ignore them. Looking at the navy blue suit laying flat on his bed, he wondered how will he face her tonight.

"Jana toh padhega lekin kaise jau... shaam ki party mein woh bhi ayegi.... skip bhi nahi kar sakta, itna bada deal jo sign karna hai Mr. Mehta ke saath." He gritted his teeth and clenched his jaw out of frustration.

There was no sign of Zoya in Aditya's life either. A week of constant calling, messaging, tweeting, even as far as mailing her didnt seem to work one bit. Aditya was exhausted at this point. A few days back, he thought of contacting Zoya through Sahir only to find out Zoya already sent Sahir a humongous text explaining how she was sorry and that whatever she did was for "your stupid brother Aditya." She also made it clear that she didnt want to receive any calls from any of them henceforth nor did she want to keep contact.

"Its been a week Pooja! Aur nahi horaha mujhse, manta hoon maine jo kiya galat tha lekin aisi hardcore ignore mar rahi hai mujhse ye aur bardash nahi horaha!" Aditya yelled through the phone. Pooja remained silent, as if contemplating something.

"POOJA!" He yelled again.
"Chup kar be! Accha thik hai sun, ill try to convince her to talk to you. Agar meri jaan gayi toh tu dekh lena!" Pooja knew Zoya would cut the call if she even uttered his name, but she also felt like a week was too long.

"SACH?!" Aditya couldnt believe his ears.
"Haan, zyada khush mat hona, mai ab call karne jari hoon, tu 10 minute baad call karna usko. If she picks up, mubarak ho aur agar nahi kiya toh just know that i tried my best."

"Lekin-"

"K bye." Pooja cut the call.

Aditya didnt know what to feel. Every tick of the clock made the beat of his heart faster. He anticipated the call yet feared it. What if she doesnt pick up? Would it mean the end? He paced around the room heedlessly, all his mind could think of was Zoya. Meanwhile he also practised what he would say to her if she does miraculously pick up. After what felt like an hour, 10 minutes were over. This was it. He gulped down thickly and picked up his phone. Dialling up her number nervously, he waited.

Ringing.

5 rings, no answer. Maybe this was it. He could feel his heart shattering into a million pieces, but suddenly they froze as the ringing stopped and someone actually picked up. He just stood still in disbelief. Zoya picked up the call! His mind came to a complete stop as he tried to process what just happened, his whole body was in confusion. He was ready but he totally wasnt, what was he expecting again? He took a deep breath and shook his head. Gulping down, he nervously said, "Hello.." Aditya heard the sounds of busy streets in the background, maybe she was on her way to the office.

After a brief pause, she finally spoke up. "kya chahiye?" She asked straightforwardly, but Aditya caught on to the hurt in her voice, the lump in her throat, and the voice that was almost about to crack. Aditya felt like he could finally breath again, he finally heard her beautiful voice, though it wasn't giving him all the peace. She was hurt and it was because of him. He hated to be the reason behind it and that is exactly why he would ensure to make everything okay again. Taking a deep breath, he started.
