Authors/N: Hey guys! I'm here with another story. Firstly and foremost, what are you doing here lmao. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read this. Have a good day!
The school atmosphere was buzzing with activity. There was a group of young boys skipping on the asphalt, dandelions dotting the oval, and the fountain spraying cool water over the passerbyers. A lot of the older kids were sitting in corners speaking in hushed tones, most probably about the new act planned to take place next week.
Then the school bell rang, telling everyone to head to the courtyard for the morning announcements. The kids headed into their year groups, that is, the kindergarteners went to the right side, the year 1's next, right up to year 12.
Principal Mullins raised his hands, indicating to us that we should quiet down. 'Last week has been a very eventful week,' he told us. Understatement. His voice was lively and upbeat, with a childlike tone to it, and it was one I'd heard all too often. 'Today, the year 12's will be preparing for their graduation, so can you please head to the hall after this. I-' he whispered to the vice principal, 'is there anything else?'
'No sir.'
'I would like to wish you a great day, and goodnight. Uh, sorry, goodbye.' he smiled and left toward the library. The school laughed.
'Hey,' said a voice to my right. I turned to look, and what a surprise. It was Lester. 'What d'ya think 'bout the Australis terms?'
'I dunno. Means I'll be able to go and see New Zealand easier,' I cringed. 'Sorry, that doesn't quite make sense,'
Lester snorts. '"quite", wow, are you becoming a-' he pauses to make an accent, 'British citizen?' he says in a very British accent. I laugh. Then I stiffen. I feel a pair of hands on my back, starting to pick me up, and I swing around and whack my arm around on the person behind me.
'Charlotte, you won't be able to scare me.' I say, though internally, I'm fighting back waves of darkness.
'Dang, I thought that for once...' Charlotte drifts off.
'Nope.' I popping the 'p'. I stick my tongue out at the red curly haired girl named Charlotte, my great friend.'
'There's always tomorrow.'
'But there was yesterday. If you do this every day at the same time, I'm going to get used to it.'
'Yeah, the macho girl's right Charlie.' says Lester.
'Macho girl?' I laugh. 'You haven't seen my macho side.'
