When Oaksplash woke up, he was in a completely different place he had been in when he fell asleep in the deep snow. He was in a warm dark green den with tiny odd emerald orbs flying around him. He swiped at them lazily, still in a daze and not fully aware what was going on.

"Finally, you're awake," Oaksplash recognised his father's familiar mew and perked his ears up, blinking sleep from his eyes.

"Hey Darkleaf!" He smiled groggily- a part of him wished he could just fall back asleep.

"Wait!" He yelped, his mind finally registering properly, "How am I here? Where am I?" The pupils in his yellow eyes becoming wider as they darted around the bare den in confusion.

"Your den, obviously," Darkleaf rolled his eyes, twitching his whiskers slightly, "If you fall asleep somewhere in silverpelt, by a certain time you'll be brought back here."

"Wow," Oaksplash stood up and steadied himself, "Nobody ever told me StarClan was like this.. it's so much different than I thought it was."

"Yeah, you'll find out with time how everything works.. well, eventually. I'm still learning myself," Darkleaf snorted, "Even though I've been here a while."

"Wait. what's that?" He was staring at one of the glowing miniscule forest green orbs that had seemingly woke him up.

"Oh, those," Darkleaf made an action with his head and they came whizzing back to him. His fur seemed to tint green for a moment as they disappeared into his fur.

Oaksplash was speechless. Darkleaf snickered, "I forgot you just came here."

"Explain, please," Oaksplash was getting increasing frustrated at the weird things that were happening around him that he didn't understand, "Was that.. magic?"

"M-magic?" Darkleaf spluttered, laughing, "Are you being serious?"

"But I-"

"This isn't anything magical.. it's.." Darkleaf paused, "A skill, like hunting or fighting. Cats can occasionally develop different odd skills that can help them in ways. It's not really.. supposed to happen, it's, uh.. complicated to say the least."

"Oh.." he trailed off, confused. Were things like this normal? Just the same as learning how to capture a mouse?

"Anyway, that's about all the surprises there are here, it's not too complex," Darkleaf purred slightly. Oaksplash disagreed, this felt like the most complex thing in the world to him.

"Darkleaf..?" Oaksplash murmured after a moment of silence, "Is.. is Eaglewing doing alright?" Thinking about his brother made his throat feel tight, but he needed to know.

"Well.. why don't you find out for yourself?" He gave him a small half-smile and trotted out of the den, Oaksplash following quickly behind him.

When he left the den he found he was in some sort of camp, there was a plentiful prey pile in the middle which cats were picking their way through and a few other dens that were scattered around.

As he was looking gobsmacked at the huge camp, Darkleaf was staring at the steadily darkening sky (he must have woken up late), a look of fear in his eyes.

"So Darkleaf, how do you get-" he was cut off as Darkleaf bumped into him accidentally as he franticly paced up and down.

"Oh! Sorry Oaksplash.. I just.. I need to be somewhere," he muttered, and the terrified look on his face confirmed to Oaksplash that it was important, "But why don't you ask that dappled calico to take you, didn't you meet her yesterday?"
