Julie basks in her mate's presence while waiting for her meal to be finished cooking. The fact that her accept not only sharing her with each other but that she needs lots of attention because of her kitten side. Some people don't like clingy lovers, but she got lucky for getting three mates that understand her needs.
Aro puts a steaming plate of chicken Alfredo in front of her and she grabs a fork to dig in, but Caius takes a hold her wrist before the fork touches the food. She whines and looks back at him with a pout, and he tells her, "It's still hot. You could burn your tongue and we don't want that, do we?"
She shakes her head and puts the fork down and starts blowing on the Alfredo to make it cool down faster. The kings all smile and shake their heads at their mate's childness. She starts using her hands to fan the food off wanting to eat already.
After a couple minutes, Julie picks up her fork again and scoops a good portion then shoves it into her mouth. Her eyes light up, and she quickly devours the rest of it. She lets out a sigh and leans back against Caius once she finishes her meal. Caius rubs her stomach and asks, "Was it good? Are you full or do you want something else?"
"It was great," she sighs out, "I am stuffed."
"Good." Caius lifts her and carries her while he runs to their couch in the library with Aro and Marcus on his tail. Caius sits down with Julie in his lap with Aro and Marcus on each side of him. She shifts into her kitten, moves to Marcus' lap, and curls up for a nap. After a big yawn, she puts her head and falls into a deep sleep with Marcus slowly petting her.
As Julie sleeps in her mate's lap, all of them watch the steady rise and fall of her body with each breath she takes. They still have more work to do which is surprising for the self entitled Kings. Instead of doing their work, they wish to continue to relax in the presence of their mate, but it seems as though the world won't allow it as Jane enters the library quietly as to not disturb the Queen.
"Masters, the next trial is ready to begin whenever you choose," she whispers but the Kings hear it easily.
"We will be right there. And Jane, have Demetri come guard the library while we are away from our mate. No one is allowed in except us," Aro commands. Jane bows and exits the room as quietly as she entered. The Kings stand up as Marcus sets Julie down on a pillow, and leave the room to finish their work as quickly as possible so they may return back to their mate.
When Julie wakes up, she sees that she is alone in the library on a pillow. She shifts back to her human form and grabs a book off one of the shelves to read until her mates come back. The book she picks out is about vampires, this way she can learn more about her mates and the people she will around for the rest of her life.
There is no explanation to how vampires were first created, but how vampires create more vampires by injecting their venom in a human. It usually takes three days to turn into a vampire and it is sent in excruciating pain. Vampires are incredibly strong and fast. Julie already knows most of these things from Carlisle, especially his theory on how you bring something with you from your human life which is your gift. There isn't much she doesn't know about in this book, but it is still interesting to read.
Julie gets up and grabs a few books that she would like to read and sets them on the table in front of the couch. She starts to get goosebumps and sees a fireplace that looks like it has never been used, probably since it hasn't. She looks around to see if there is anyway she could build a fire but there isn't. She goes to the doors and opens them up to see a man standing in font of the doors and turned to her when she opened them.
"Did you need something, my Queen?" he asks.
"Um, yeah, I uh wanted to build a fire to warm myself up. It is quite cold in here," Julie stammers out not knowing who this person is but obviously known by him.
"Of course. I will get some wood and get a fire started right away, my Queen." The man begins to walk away, but stops when Julie speaks, "What is your name?"
"Demetri, my Queen." He bows before turning back around and disappearing to get wood. Julie goes back inside the library and picks up a book before laying on the coach and opening it up.
She is a chapter into her book before Demetri returns with a stack of wood in hand with a box of matches. He drops the stack next to the fireplace while apologizing, "I am sorry for the wait. I have to go chop some wood and buy matches since we have no need for heat. I will make sure that the fireplace is always ready for you to use from now on."
"Thank you, Demetri. I will also have a fireplace in my room, so can you make sure that is stocked as well?"
"It is no problem, my Queen." He puts the wood in and lights a match. The fire catches and continues to grow warming the surrounding around making Julie already feel it seep into her skin. The glow of the fire allows her to read her books better and the crackles and pops give the Julie background noise in the once silent room. After a while the heat fills the room and the only thing she needs now is her mates.
