While Julie was relaxing in the library, the Kings were in the throne room glaring at the two vampires that are kneeled before them. Alejandro and Serena didn't know why they were brought before the Kings. They could not think of anything that they did that broke any the laws. From the intense glares that they are receiving, they know that they are going to die today."Do you have any clue as to why you are here?" Aro questions. He knows that they don't but wants to see them squirm a bit and maybe reveal anything that they have done that is questionable.
"No, I do not know as to why we are here. We have done nothing that has broken the laws. We are always careful to not be seen or reveal ourselves to the humans," Alejandro slowly speaks to not aggravate the Kings, especially Caius since he looks like he wants to kill.
"Of course you wouldn't. You have not broken any of the laws, but you hurt someone that belongs to us and we want to reprehend you. Since no laws are broken, we cannot kill you but putting you in the dungeons doesn't have any requirements. What do you think brothers?" Aro inquires. Alejandro and Serena look terrified and look at each King to see that they are in agreement.
"Wait a moment. We don't even know what we did wrong! You have not explained anything or given and justification to our imprisonment!" Serena screams out. She is horrified at the idea of being locked in a cell to be tortured for who knows how long, decades, centuries.
"About 64 years ago, you hunted and kill two kitten-shifters while one other escaped. That kitten is our mate. We finally met her after all this time and had to listen to her past. You are now a threat to our mate and your Queen. We will not let threats roam free knowing that they could come after her at any time. That is why you are to be imprisoned," Caius spoke with a sneer and conviction. He will anyone and everyone to protect his mate.
At that time, Julie could feel that her mates were angry and pissed. She didn't want her mates to feel that way so she decided to go find them. Demetri tried to stop her but she didn't let him and made him take her to them. Demetri opened the door and she walked into the throne seeing her mates glaring at the two vampires that have haunted her since that fateful night. She gasps and cowers back and hides behind Demetri.
All the vampires in the room turn towards the gasp. Marcus is the first one at Julie's side because his throne is closest to the door. Alejandro and Serena see her and know who she is. Their fearful faces turn into angry ones and moves towards Julie in order to kill her like they were suppose to all those years ago. The guards automatically block the vampires from Julie while Aro and Caius stand next to their mate with Marcus. Felix battles with Alejandro while Jane pins Serena with her hateful stare that forces pain onto the recipient. Serena's screams pierce the air and Alejandro looks over at her to see her withering in pain on the ground. That moment is all it takes for Felix to get the upper hand and pin down Alejandro.
Julie hides behind Marcus clutching onto his cloak while seeing the two vampires that have haunted her for the past 57 years being pinned down by the royal guard. Even though she knows that her mates will never let Alejandro and Serena come close to her, Julie can't forget watching them kill her parents and running for her life. The flashbacks are making Julie frozen and shake in fear as her mates try to bring her out of her mind and comfort her when they start to see tears well up in her eyes and flow down her cheeks.
Marcus lifts Julie up and carries her out of the room while telling Aro and Caius, "I will take her to the library and try to calm her down while you deal with them. Make them suffer."
None of the guards have ever seen such malice and anger in Marcus' eyes or heard venom laced in his words that promised pain. Every guard would have gotten chills if they weren't vampires but they still felt fear even though his words weren't directed at them.
"Of course, brother," Aro declares. He and Caius turn towards Alejandro and Serena as the door closes behind Marcus. Felix has Alejandro pinned down while Demetri has Serena pinned. The cold fury in Aro and Caius' eyes let Alejandro and Serena know that they will get the most painful death possible for a vampire. The royal guard are excited to see what their masters will do to the couple. It has been centuries since they have seen their masters in this state and got to have fun torturing law breakers and rebels.
Caius is the first to speak, "Take them down to the dungeon. I don't want our mate to hear what is about to happen."
"Yes master," comes from the royal guard, then Alec uses his black smoke to make the prisoners paralyzed for easy transport. Felix and Demetri pick them up and follow Jane and Alec to the dungeon as Aro and Caius follow them. The dungeon is deep underground so any screams can't be heard in the castle.
Once they arrive, the Kings have Felix break off Alejandro and Serena's feet so they can't run away. When the feet are gone, Alec retracts his smoke so the real fun can begin. As the couple becomes conscious, they start screaming from the pain of broken off feet. They get use to the pain, Aro orders Felix break each finger off slowly. After that their hands are gone, slowly working up their arms and then the legs. The pain is excruciating for Alejandro and Serena, and seeing each other in pain makes it worse. Once it is just their heads, the Kings light a fire and have the guards throw the pieces in. Making sure everything turns to ash, the Kings are able to feel relieved that the thing that was haunting their mate the most is gone for good. They make their way back upstairs with the royal guard following to see their mate.
The royal guard have never seen this much emotion from the Kings and they are starting to like it. They want to meet the Queen and learn why she causes this to rise in their masters.
