Chapter 20

"I couldn't refuse. I haven't seen them for long and Jade really wanted. And Alice is sad. Maybe we could cheer her up a little bit." I explained Hephaestion.

"I feel like I'm starting to lose you for other people." He said.

"Don't be such a drama queen. Tomorrow I'll be all yours. Just like I was this whole month. But this afternoon and night I'm gonna have a sleepover." I slipped my arms around his neck and pecked his lips.

"I'll miss falling asleep while embracing you, and waking up with you by my side." He said.

"Just a night, my love." I said.

"Fine. Go and have fun." He smiled.

We used my bedroom in which we brought lots of pillows blankets and food.

"I didn't have a sleepover since I was a teenager." Jade said excited.

"I've never had one." I said.

"What?! Why?!" They both said, shocked by my confession.

"Security reasons. Being a princess means you never know if your friends are true or just spies or assassins." I laughed it off.

"I always had sleepovers with Talia." Alice said.

"Well... now you have with us. We promise to be half as awesome as she is." Jade said. "And twice as mean."

"Jade..." I sighed. "Look...we are really sorry. We know that she is your best friend. But you're not alone. We don't have to be enemies, Alice." I said.

"I understand. And I have nothing against you, Ella. Talia hated you because of Hephaestion." She explained.

I shrugged. "I can't decided with whom I fall in love and neither can him. But I hope she can get over it and be happy."

"Me too." Alice said.

"Let's drop this sadness. Life's short. I say we should move on." Jade suggested.

We talked, joked and it seemed that by the end of the sleepover, Alice was feeling more comfortable around us.

"Ella? Do you think you could introduce me to Sirius?" She asked shyly.

I smiled. "You like him?"

"She definitely does." Jade answered.

"I just think that he's a really cool person." She said.

"And a great lover." Jade said.

"He's like my brother. I don't want to think of him like that. And how can you know, Jade?" I laughed.

"Well...he certainly looks like one." The younger girl said.

"I'll help you, Alice. He is really special and I think you'll get along with him." I said.

I showed them some sketches for the future clothes and I promised to design something personalized for them. After that Jade brought her giant collection of nail polish and did our nails.

"It's so annoying to wait until it's dried. " I complained.

"Yeah but you look amazing after." Jade said.

"If you don't mess up on the last minute." Alice completed.

"I know, right." I whined looking at the paint on my nails hoping I won't destroy it.

At one point the three of us were too tired, after all, Alice and Jade had a long way back home.

"Alice ,Jade?" I whispered, checking on them. When neither was answering, I tip toed outside the room. I gently opened my bedroom's door and saw Hephaestion lying on bed, reading a book.

"Aren't you tired?" I asked sitting on his side.

"Shouldn't you be partying?" He asked ignoring my question.

"They fell asleep." I kissed his forehead. "And I came to say goodnight."

"You could stay here and sneak back early in the morning." He suggested pulling me into his lap.

"Nope. You'll have to be patient until tomorrow." I said, kissing his neck after each word.

"I can be. Are you sure you can?" He said while placing his hands under my shirt.

"I can tease you too, Hephaestion." I whispered after biting his ear lobe. I could feel his nail digging into my skin.

"Good night!" I quickly jumped from him, but not before placing small peck on his lips.

"Not even a proper kiss?" I heard him saying after me.

I tried to be as silent as possible, not to wake them up and having to explain my little nocturnal strolls.

Just as I slipped back into bed, I heard Jade's voice.

"You won, Alice."

"Aren't you sleeping?" I asked.

"Nope. We were betting how long you'll stay." Alice answered.

"And you couldn't stay longer, could you?" Jade said a little annoyed.
