Where are you? We're going to be late!

I am almost there. Chill out.

You are wearing your costume, aren't you?

Of course, I am. It's Halloween after all.

Good. I am sitting by the Mcdonald's.

Ok. Be there soon.

"Why have you been outside in that! You are crazy!"

I am dressed as a fallen angel. I have a shorter black dress on with black feathered "wings". Alex is dressed as a witch, which fits the dark mood that she has.

"Because I didn't want you to get lost."

"Why did we come here again? It's roller skating, on Halloween, with a ton of teenagers! Couldn't you have chosen something a little more... not so peopley? People are gross!" My friend yells over the clamor of teenagers.

"You came because I invited you. I came because I invited you and you said yes."

"It is your fault we came here!"

"Is not!"

"Is too!"

"Come on. We can still enter to be in the best costume contest. And besides, I am in a dress that goes above my knees and I can't skate. I need you for support!"

"Morally or physically?"

"Both," I say, slightly embarrassed.

"Fine Bree."

"Thanks, Alex!" I give her my best smile.

We skate around the rink for a while. Alex helping me keep my balance, and me making sure no one runs into us. The winners of the contest was a group of kids dressed up as Disney princesses.

We are both startled when the leader of our church's band announces partner skating. "Everyone find a partner! Let's see who the cutest couple are! Boys, go ask your girl to skate with them!"

Alex takes off leaving me behind. She is not social. I grab the rail to steady myself. I look over my shoulder and see this panda coming right for me! Time slows down.

We collide. An arm wraps around my waist. One of my arms wraps itself around the person's bicep while the other goes around the waist of the person. I can tell it's a guy before he speaks. I can feel the muscles of his bicep tighten as he holds me up off the ground. His abs are rock hard. The mask comes off.

Dark eyes, tan skin, dark hair. He looks like a younger version of Theo James, but with dark hair. His voice is deep but smooth. I find myself blushing. He apologizes for running into me and then he leaves. I don't know his name or anything.

Alex comes up behind me. "You look like crap. What happened?"

I don't have words.

"Wait, you saw a cute boy didn't you?" I nod. "Gross! Come on. I need food."

Alex pulls me along behind her. I didn't see my hero for the rest of the night. It was a real-life Cinderella story, with me as the prince.

AN

True story. Happened to me on Halloween. The only reason I wrote about it was because my friends dared me to. Please don't judge too much!
