Hello my Lovelies! You guys said you wanted it, so here you go!
Also, if you want me to do any other characters, comment down below! I'm up for almost anything. The first seven will be Fitz, Keefe, Dex, Biana, Sophie, Lihn, and Tam, but after that, I'll take recommendations!
I am trying to be a tiny bit accurate to the books, so for example, Sophie won't be sorted until her second year, and the Song twins until fourth. That's kind of how it was in Keeper of the Lost Cities, right?
Without further ado, on to the sorting!
Fitz was one of the last to be called up for the sorting. It was expected, given that his last name was Vacker.
He walked up to the stage (was it even a stage?) and sat on the uncomfortable, rickety stool, projecting confidence. Was he terrified? Oh, absolutely. The mask of calmness was just that: a mask.
He remembered when Alvar was sorted proudly into Ravenclaw. Fitz was only four, so it was fuzzy; but in his mind, he could see his older brother squatting down next to him, ruffling his hair. So Fitz held his chin up, trying to impress, and said, "When I grow up, I'm gonna be a Ravenclaw, just like you!" Alvar had laughed.
"Don't make up your mind so soon, Little Brother. You never know what house you might end up in. But whatever happens, I know I'll be proud."
In the present, Fitz scanned the crown, eyes landing on his brother. Alvar wasn't even paying attention, instead trying to woo a girl from his year.
Another Vacker, eh? Although he knew the basics of what it felt like to be sorted, hearing the deep voice of the Sorting Hat in his brain made him want to squirm. I remember sorting your brother.
Taking a deep breath, Fitz tried to clear his head. I'm not like my brother.
A rumble floated through his head, sounding almost like laughter. Angry, I see. You resent Alvar, no? Hmmm, not a Hufflepuff. Fitz didn't know what house he wanted to be in. Not Ravenclaw, like when he was four. He didn't want to have to share a house with the brother he used to love so dearly. Not after Alvar had changed, trying to fit in with the cool kids and pretending Fitz didn't exist. Smart mind, I see. And fond of learning. Wouldn't make a bad Ravenclaw... Fitz couldn't breathe. But no, not as much creativity and wit as some.
If he wasn't so relieved, Fitz might have been insulted. Very brave. And reckless, too. You would make a fine Gryffindor. But such ambition! Perhaps Slytherin is the way to go... There was silence after that, and Fitz wondered if the Sorting Hat fell asleep. Did Sorting Hats sleep?
Such strong thoughts. I can see greatness planned in your future. But where does that land you? You don't seem as cunning as other Slytherins... yes, I think you belong in--
"GRYFFINDOR!"
This one was pretty short, but I think that accurate for Fitz. Please tell me what you think. I love hearing from you guys! It seriously makes my day, even if it's just a short little comment. I'll post the next chapter, Keefe's sorting, tomorrow. Until then, bye my Lovelies!
