Hi my Lovelies! Second chapter, here we come!
Honestly, Keefe wasn't really worried about the Sorting. Everyone around him made it out to be some huge deal. But he knew where he wanted to end up. Gryffindor with Fitz.
Being in the same house as his closest friend would be a dream come true. Not to mention how much it would infuriate his parents. Cassius and Gisela Sencen were two of the proudest Slytherins and wanted just the same for their son. Keefe was determined to prove them wrong. He was going to get into Gryffindor, and nothing was going to stop him
The biggest worry on his mind, truly, was how uncomfortable the stool was. Keefe went to a magic wizarding school. Couldn't they find some way to increase comfort levels?
Mr. Sencen, welcome. The Sorting Hat could hear his thoughts, right? That's how people chatted with him. Or was it her? Yes, Mr. Sencen, I can hear your thoughts. And I'm whatever you want me to be. Well, that was vague and slightly ominous.
Don't call me Mr. Sencen.
She/He/They/It (Seriously, what pronoun did the Sorting Hat use?) laughed. Very well, Mr. Keefe. I can see you don't like your family legacy. Keefe wondered if he was supposed to respond. Let's see where you belong, shall we?
Keefe grinned. 'I already know where I belong; I'm a Gryffindor!' he thought, once again causing the Sorting Hat to chuckle.
Yes, you are rather brave, a quality found in Gryffindors. But let's at least explore other options, shall we? Keefe huffed, but what was he going to do? Say no? You have a very kind heart, something that might benefit you as a Hufflepuff... but you struggle with loyalty. You are not the hardest worker, either.
Well, duh! Why would I want to have to do a bunch of hard stuff?
The Sorting Hat ignored him. A clever mind, and such a vivid memory! Perhaps if you were more interested in intelligence, you would be a Ravenclaw. Keefe grinned. This meant he was going into Gryffindor. That was the only option left, except... He was not going to be a Slytherin. That's exactly what his parents wanted!
So, I'm in Gryffindor, right? Keefe wondered how he could actually feel the blow of air as the Sorting Hat sighed.
Such a grudge against Slytherin. Pity, truly, that the only example you have to go on is your parents. There are many amazing Slytherin who go on to achieve great things, Mr. Keefe.
Keefe crossed his arms in defiance, despite the fact that the Sorting Hat couldn't see him (Or could it? That was food for thought.). I'm a Gryffindor! With Fitz! You can't put me in a house I don't belong in. I won't let you! There was another sigh, paired with a rush of air. (Okay, that was creepy. How did he feel the sigh?)
Mr. Keefe, I'm afraid that your determination to be in Gryffindor is exactly what puts you in--
"SLYTHERIN!"
I would like to specify that Keefe's hatred of Slytherin is not me saying Slytherin is a bad or evil house. I love Slytherin! I simply think Keefe would have a biased opinion because his parents are terrible parents, and they were both Slytherin. I do think that Keefe would grow to love his house endlessly after a short amount of time!
Well, anyways, please tell me what you think in the comments! Seriously, comments give me life! Tomorrow you'll be able to read Dex's sorting, which is the longest one yet!
Until then, bye my Lovelies!
