18 : The Power

After driving into the village, which was as lifeless as the other towns, I saw a single toad that headed in towards the mountains. I took it.

The road wasn't as well maintained as the highway or the village so the speed struggled. The jeeps were relatively pretty far away from us. I kept driving and Sam took every opportunity he got to shoot a tyre or just pressure them to back off. We kept on like this for half an hour before we reached a T point. I'd completely lost track of the map which we'er using to get here so I didn't know which way to go. "Sam, take my phone, open navigation and get us to this temple", I said.

"Okay", he replied as he put the M4 down and started searching for my phone in the single bag we had. "Found it"

It took him a minute to reply again, "What should I be searching for here? Like what should I type in the search?", he asked.

"Umm- just pinpoint our location on the physical map which we have then keep tracking us till we get to the temple on the physical map"

After a moment he said, "We're right on track, pretty close too"

After about 10 minutes of driving we reached the road leading to the temple which was at the top of the highest mountain around here. It was nearing evening, it was 1900 by the time we reached the temple.

We stopped and saw many bald priests, who looked like Buddha himself. Some of them approached us hurriedly, after pushing the others away, they were wearing black robes of the sort I saw in my dreams. "Come quick, we have already received the word about you coming here to escape", one of them said as he opened the door and dragged me out. The others got Sam and Tyler, Enter exited the car himself and followed us inside the temple. The priests wearing the black robes handed us to the normal clothed priests and said, "Protect them with your lives", and they nodded and took us inside.

At that moment the jeeps from Seii also arrived, the black robe priests stood there making a line of defence in front of the temple entrance and that's all I saw before the door to the temple was closed with us inside. One of the priest wearing the black robe was with us, "Get back", he announced. Then he created a blue fireballs in his hands, then placed one of them on the floor near his feet then he used the second fireball to make a vertical line from the first fireball to the height of his head. He then made a circle with that vertical line as its diameter. "There, the portal is done", he declared. "Thank you for this power, thank you for allowing me to help you in your time of need when you helped me in my time of need", he said politely to me. "Thank you, Preak"

"I gave you this power? What are you saying? How do you know my name? How did you guys know that we were coming? And another question... I saw people wearing the same kind of black robes, in my dream, where we were in some sort of bunker and we were flying through space", I said.

"You- you really are him, why did I even doubt it", he muttered the last words with amazement in his eyes. "Now, you will understand everything, when the time comes, when you save us, now go!", he said just as the door to the temple blew up. The priests in the black robes were all on the floor, probably dead. He pushed us into the blue portal, the last thing I saw was Seii floating in the sky outside the temple, his men dead, only the priests and one black robe priest were standing between us...

Everything turned blue, I saw Sam disappear into the blue color, which was the atmosphere itself. Soon Enter and Tyler also turned into blue particles, disappearing. I tried not to panic, but couldn't handle it, soon I tried to scream for help but no voice would come out. I tried to grab my throat to check whats wrong, but I couldn't feel my hands, I looked down, and saw the blue background, with few shiny white particles. It was like I was buried underground, under blue sand, but still it felt calm. Wait, he said portal... maybe... I though as I landed on the ground. It was cold, it was morning, early morning, because I could see the sun coming up, and the air was cold. I was sitting on dark brown mud... I on top of a mountain. A mountain with snow and a road that was cleaned up, people used it. Did the portal not work? Or was I teleported near the temple? I got up and saw Sam, Tyler and Enter on the ground with me.

"What just happened?", Sam asked astonished. Tyler just grabbed Sam. Enter got up, his tail looked dead.

I heard a car coming, it was far. I stood in between of the road and saw, it was jeep, not the one like Seii's but different.

"EY! WHO IS THERE?", someone from the car shouted in a weird accent, one I had never heard. I was surprised for a moment and just stood there. Sam got up.

The jeep stopped in front of us. The person sitting in the passenger seat inside had his gun pointed at us.

"Who are you?", he said in that accent again. We surely weren't in US. "We.. we got sent here in some weird blue portal created by a priest living in the mountains, if that makes any sense", I said.

"Eh, what?", he said, then talked in a low tone with the driver.

The driver exited the vehicle. "I do not understand what you said, but you are children, you even have a toddler, so we will help you, you are in the highest mountain on this planet, Himalaya", he said. Wait... isn't Himalayas in Asia, and Ind-

"Are we in India?", Sam asked.

"Yes you are", he said.
