So, what to do now?
I was frozen in front of the classroom, rehearsing my introduction over and over again.
"Are you the transfer student?"
Oh, look. It's the teacher(I think).
Fortunately, the teacher arrived and saved me the time and embarrassment of standing in front of the doorway for five minutes.
She introduced me and began class. The classes were easy enough and afterwards, I had a nice chat with my classmates.
Then everyone at Hanasakigawa Girl's High lived happily ever after.
Not.
As if it could be that easy.
"(L/N)-san?"
"A-Ah, yes! I'm (L/N) (Y/N)," I nervously stammered.
The girl I was currently talking to, Ichigaya Arisa is a really nice person. She's in a different class but it seems like she occasionally comes to this class to see her friends(she strongly denies it though).
Though she seems to be a nice and friendly person, I saw her throw some sarcastic comments at her friends every now and then when they seemed to be coming up with strange ideas. She really mature, isn't she?
Arisa smiled at me wryly. "You've already introduced yourself. Thrice."
I flushed a little from embarrassment and sheepishly smiled back. "Sorry, I'm a little nervous. Since it's my first day here and all."
Arisa was about to reply when someone else called her name.
"Arisa-Ah, sorry to interrupt."
A somewhat familiar student stood before us with an apologetic smile. Oh, was she planning to discuss something with Arisa?
Still, she seemed really familiar. That brown hair, those blue eyes, and her clothing...where have I seen it before?
Oh. I remember now.
"You are..."
With a cheerful smile and curious expression, the girl tilted her head slightly.
"Have we met before?" she asked.
I nodded, confident with my memory. "You're that girl who works in the bakery downtown, right? I see you a lot when I pass by."
When I was met with silence, I began to panic a bit.
"Di-Did I make a mistake?"
What if they start to label me as weird because I mixed her up with someone else?
"You're not wrong. I'm Yamabuki Saaya; my parents own Yamabuki Bakery," The girl (Saaya) said. "I didn't think you'd remember our bakery, (L/N)-san-Woah!"
Saaya was suddenly tackled by Toyama Kasumi, the girl who sat in front of me during class. She had quite a big impact in my memory due to her cheerful, yet absent-minded personality. Well, that was my impression of her at least. I can't really say for sure since I haven't even spoken to her yet.
"Sa-aya~chan~ What'cha talking about?" Kasumi asked, a bundle of cheerfulness as always.
Despite being unable to move due to the great strength of her friend's bear hug, Saaya smiled affectionately at Kasumi and pat her head."Kasumi! I was just chatting with (L/N)-san."
As Kasumi directed her attention to me, I gave her a nervous smile. "Hello."
"Nice to meet you! I'm Toyama Kasumi. You know, Saaya's family owns a bakery. And it's the best! You should try the choco coronets and melon bread, they're delicious!" Kasumi chattered while she grabbed my hands and began shaking them.
I chuckled in response to her excitement. "I'll try some when I have the chance."
"Who's that hiding behind you?" I suddenly noticed a shorter girl behind Kasumi, with short black hair and droopy, pink eyes.
The girl squeaked as Kasumi moved to the side. She began to fidget with her fingers
"M-My name is U-Ushigome Rimi. Nice to meet you!" Rimi stammered in a shy and super cute mannerism.
What is with this adorable human?
"Nice to meet you," I responded, suddenly feeling like I should act mature and reliable. Is this the Rimi effect?
As I was trying to act dependable, a hand pat my head gently.
"There, there," a different voice said soothingly, as if she were talking to a small animal.
As I looked up at the girl questioningly, she removed her hand and apologized in an unapologetic fashion, "Sorry, you reminded me of my rabbits."
"You have pet rabbits?" I asked, earning a nod from her.
"20 of them," she replied. Woah, wait a moment. Isn't 20 a little too many rabbits? How big does a house have to be to fit a family and 20 rabbits?
I chuckled, slightly nervous. "That's...a lot. Isn't it ever troublesome?" I questioned.
The girl tilted her head curiously. "How?"
"Ah, never mind."
Is it just me who thinks it's troublesome? I'm not really familiar with what's normal and not normal when it comes to pets.
Changing the topic, I decided to introduce myself and she did as well. She said her name was Hanazono Tae, otherwise known as 'O-Tae'. We talked a bit more about various other topics before she was called away by Kasumi.
"O-Tae~ Let's go practice!" The brunette called energetically from across the classroom. She was carrying what looked like a guitar case, is she in a band? Now that I think about it, Tae also had one.
"Got it!" Tae calmly answered with a smile and slung the case over her shoulder.
"See you tomorrow." I waved at her and she waved back before joining Kasumi and disappearing outside of the classroom.
Oh, now that I think about it, I have to walk home.
As I silently trudged home, something caught my eye and I turned to look.
A group of girls seemed to be in the middle of a...small argument? In the middle were four girls, three who seemed quite familiar.
"They look really familiar...But who were they again?"
"To go or not to go, that is the question..." I pondered for several seconds, finally arriving at the simplest, most entertaining answer.
"Well, to go is the only answer~!"
