John's POV

What the hell was I doing here? Abigail didn't really explain much to me before she brought me to this place. The man was able to stitch me up and now I was healing but why would she risk bringing me here? She wasn't trying to kill me which was good, and something I was pretty sure she would never do.

"Any pain today John?" the red haired man I now knew was Fred asked me with a chart in his hand.

"Nope, same as you asked me three hours ago. Do you know why I am here? Why Abigail would even want to save me?" I answer his question with my own.

"I'm not an agent so all I can do is guess, since you knew Angelica she maybe able to use your help to track her down in the next time period. Now having to come up with a story for you and her together in said period...well that won't be easy." Fred sighs as he goes back to his work.

Together? What did he mean by that. The door the opens and in walks Abigail, in completely different clothing that she was wearing before. Now she was in a long white linen dress. One that was almost see through...I wasn't going to be the one to tell her that though, I didn't have a death wish.

"Egypt is the next one right?" she asks Fred who looks over and his jaw drops to the ground, yeah that was my reaction too but I hid it better.

"Yeah, uh the story-" Fred starts but I stop him.

"What story and why did you bring me back here?" I question Abigail as I sit up and she walks right up to me.

"I brought you back here because you were dying, we healed you and since you knew Angelica better than any other, I should be able to use you to find her in Egypt." She answers with out trying to hide anything at all.

"The story? What is he talking about with that?"

"A story to keep our true background under wraps, just like in Salem I was suppose to be Sarah's cousin, obviously I wasn't but that was my story, now he comes up for one with us in Ancient Egypt." Abigail shrugs as if it was no big deal.

"Its simple really, she is your wife, you are in town to see the high priest to have your marriage blessed and to pray to the fertility god. Shouldn't be too obvious to anyone you don't belong there." Fred says not looking our way at all.

"Fertility god?"

"Yeah, that's who they would pray to for a baby." Fred says as he turns to look at me now. "Unless you have any better excuses?"

All eyes were on me now and I didn't have a clue what to say, so I just shook my head no. Abigail smiles as she stood beside me and gently, playfully nudged me. Looking over to her I saw her hold out her hands and give me a pile of clothes.

"Wardrobe change, dear." She grinned probably enjoying this.

"Show me where to go my love." I smiled back at her.

"You two are gonna make me sick." Fred commented.

Abigail rolled her eyes and then led me out of the room. Watching as she walked in front of me I then began to wonder who had won her heart and the true honor of calling her wife, would it be wrong to ask her such questions? I was about to find out.

"So...who did you end up starting a family with?" I ask her and she slows down so she can look at me.

"A Roman, his name was Aro...we have a daughter but I don't remember her and that thought kills me. I gave birth to her but my body was in such a weakened state that I was kept here to heal, Aro took our child back to Ancient Rome and began to raise her there." She told me trying to stay strong but I could see the tears in her eyes.

"Forgive me, I shouldn't have asked something so personal."

"It's fine, I am doing this for them. Hunting that witch down so she can't hurt my family...like she killed Jason."

Jason's death affected her more than I thought it would. She must have truly felt something for him once and now that he had died right before her, that would leave a scar in her heart no amount of time would be able to heal. Walking into the lonely room, I changed into what I could only assume was a skirt.

"This is a joke, please say this is a joke Abigail?" I ask her but she opens the door and shakes her head.

"We will be in the middle of the desert, the less clothing the better, trust me." She informs me as she takes my hand. "Now you need to get comfortable with touching me, holding my hand, everything a normal couple does."

We were the furthest thing from a normal couple in my head. Taking a deep breath I then felt her hands on my face, making my eyes focus on hers. If she was a witch then I was definitely under her spell because I couldn't look away.

"Was it true what Anne said?" she asks me.

"What part?"

"You had feelings for me?"

"Abigail, we kissed in the woods and almost went further then that, if that does not tell you of my feelings for you then I do not know what will." I tell her honestly as I can our faces becoming closer and closer.

"Time's up, ready for the hot scorching sun?" Fred called out to us.

Abigail smiled and went to the room, I walked behind her but stopped by Fred.

"You did that on purpose, why?"

"She doesn't need another heart break, you don't know the hell she is about to face." Fred says as he tries to go into the room but I grab his arm and stop her.

"What do you mean?"

"I can't tell you, neither of you, not yet." Fred says pulling his arm out of my grasp and going into the room.

Whatever he was hiding would hurt Abigail, that wasn't hard to tell. How hard it would hurt her is what concerned me.
