MACK

While Kat was being faced with one of her old enemies, I was in my first class of the day, with a much worse problem.

It all started when I sat down in the wrong seat. I had walked inot the room with my pink flowered dress and nice pink heels, my hair in curls. I didn't know where to sit, or most importantly who to sit by. I finally spotted a nice blonde headed boy with bright blue eyes. He was wearing a letterman jacket and had the cutest smile. There was a perfectly open desk sitting right next to him. Perfect, I thought. I slowly walked over, flashed a flirtatious smile, and sat down next to him. That's when the trouble started.

"What do you think you're doing?" I looked up at none other than the red-headed girl I had seen earlier with Ponyboy. I started to get angry, not just because of what she said, but because of who she was. She literally could have said anything in the world to me, good or bad, and I wouldn't feel any different. I gulped and gave her a furious look. "I think I'm sitting down," I argued. She scowled at me and then oddly put her hand out, as if she wanted to shake mine. "I'm sorry," she smiled, her tone turning from mean to sweet. "I don't think we've met. I'm Sherry Valance, but my friends call me Cherry." I cautiously shook her hand and uttered my name, "Mackenzie McHolden." I decided to leave out the fact that I was usually called Mack, because it sounded too much like a greaser name. Her tone changed once again, this time back to mean. "Well, Mackenzie," she started. "Since you're obviously new, I'll give you a break. But, next time just remember that this is my seat." I started to get angry and was about to stand up to her, but then I remembered, I'm supposed to be a Soc. I would just ruin my chances if I argued like a greaser on my first day. I slowly got up and moved seats while Cherry shot me an evil smile. I tried to ignore her, but it got harder once class started.

Right in the middle of class, all of a sudden, a note made it's way to my desk. I cautiously opened it up, trying not to get caught. Inside it read...

Hey I like you new girl. Maybe we should get to know each other a little better. Seems like you could make a nice companion. Meet me and my friends after school outside?

- Cherry :)

Great, I thought closing it up and pretending to pay attention to the teacher. Here it goes.
