Just Keep Swimming

In my heart I knew there will be another time that I will see him again.

Another day, another chance.

Oh, well! How am I going to see that man again? What are the chances that we're going to meet again? Eh why do I care naman ba? He's so fresh naman. Pogi nga medyo bastos naman. Di bale na lang kaya..

Well, the ocean is kinda big anyways. So, marami pa naman dyan. Pogi na hindi bastos. Pero sana malangoy ulit sya gawi dito saking mundo.

Be careful what you wish for sabi nga nila.

It was Monday morning, work day. After being in the traffic for about one and a half hours, nakarating din ako sa office. It's my third year of working at this university. Thank God I don't teach. Admissions officer ako sa isang university here in the city of Makati. It's overwhelming at times but being able to help students get into college is rewarding. No complaints. My workplace is somehow my refuge..tapos biglang enter the man who would change my world.

"Huy, Hannah, nakita mo na ba yung bagong professor ng English?", tanong nang aking workmate na si Emma. "Naku po ang pogi! Galing States daw. He looks very young though. Pero ang pogi talaga nya ha!", dagdag pa nya.

Magcocomment sana ako about "the professor", when I saw him walked in. Parang biglang kinurot yung puso ko when he came in and our eyes suddenly met. What in the world am I doing in the same room with this guy???

"Good morning Hannah," I heard my boss Sarah said then, "Kilala mo na ba itong bago nating staff? Meet James Pacheco..he's from Ohio..kadarating lang nya about a month ago to work here in the Philippines. We're lucky to have him here with us teaching English.

"Hannah, right?" He took one big step and extended his hand then suddenly stopped and looked like nakakita ng multo ang loko.

"Oh hi! James?", yun lang nasabi ko.
"I never thought I'd see you again,"he said.
"Magkakilala na kayo?, tanong ni Ms. Sarah. I needed to say something immediately so that I won't look like I'm clueless.
"Ah, oo. Me utang na nga ako sa kanya eh. Magkano na nga? Seventy?"
That's when out of the corner of my eyes, I thought I saw that his face suddenly softened. Pero yung biglang pagchange ng reaction nya eh yun din ang biglang pagtense ng pogi nyang mukha.
"Yup, I think it is! But I have to check my receipt and I'll get back to you on that."
Ms. Sarah was looking more puzzled by  the minute.
"See you around then Hannah. Nice to meet you. Again."
Did he say nice to meet you again? So, does that mean that the first time we met eh, nice pala? Hmmm..Heto na naman ako, reading between the lines!
With that he turned around and left. Nagpaalam quickly kay Ms. Sarah then tumalikod na. He was done with me.

Haaay!! If there was one man in the world that's left for me—kung sya yun..wag na lang. Suplado sa personal!

Marami pa dyan, out there in the big sea. Just keep swimming sabi nga nila. But then again, deep inside, I think I'm wishing that he's nice to me and that he likes me.

I'll just keep on swimming...all I know is that right now, we're swimming on the same sea.
