Jordan, Sean and I continued to talk, small talk, more than anything, until the teacher arrived. He was a taller man, balding, with glasses and piercing green eyes.

"Hello class," He droned, already sounding bored. "I'm Mr. Cobalt, and I'll be your homeroom Chemistry teacher. Most of you have your schedules already, correct?" Everyone nodded. "Well, in case you lose it, I'll call your names and you'll come up to grab your schedule." I sat up straighter, glad he hasn't said anything about me being new yet. "Oh, and class, we do have a student new to Iliad. Madilyn, if you will, come up and introduce yourself to the class." Well, that completely went out the window. I'm never nervous to do anything. In fact, I like to give speeches and represent things. That's why I'm hoping this school has a student council. I'd totally run for officer. I got up and walked to the front of the classroom, the eyes of the students on me.

"Hello, I'm Madilyn, but everyone calls me Madi." I trailed off, not sure what else Mr. Cobalt wanted me to say.

"Any sports? Hobbies? Where are you from?"

"Um, I play volleyball, a Middle Blocker, and I like cooking and reading in my free time." I looked back at Sean, who had his eyes on me. I smiled to myself.

"Okay, thank you Madi. You may sit." I walked back to my seat. Mr. Cobalt continued to explain everything in the class, but I was more focused on how captivated Sean was by me. No, Madi! You promised yourself you wouldn't get into anything. Friends, nothing more. He continued to talk until he started calling names for schedules. Once I got mine, I compared it with Sean and Jordan's.

"Woah, you're in Honors Algebra and Honors English?" Jordan said, jealous. I nodded. Sean looked at me in awe.

"Well, we have almost every class together except for those. Chemistry, History and German we all have together." Sean said. Mr. Cobalt went over more rules in the classroom, and it was over before we knew it. I looked for my next class, Honors Algebra. I started walking, and I was approached by Anthony again.

"Um, not to be rude, but Ethan wasn't exactly happy you were talking to Jordan. Not so much Sean, he's okay." He continued to walk with me. I concluded this was Ethan's issue, and if he had a problem, he could tell me. I felt bad for Anthony, because he was obviously nervous.

"Okay, well, tell Ethan if he has a problem, then for him to talk to me. I can't believe he made you come to tell me." Anthony smiled a little, and I discovered he was in my Algebra class. There was a group of 3 kids standing near the back. They were intimidating, and the girl was the one I crashed into earlier today. With her there were two boys, much taller than her, but she was short. One was bulky and looked like he could seriously hurt someone, with almost a jail-style cut blond hair and grey eyes that seemed emotionless. The taller one was lanky, and didn't look like he would do much, but looked like he'd seen a lot. He was nervous, I could tell, but didn't shake or look scared. He had brown hair and hard, brown eyes, not the kind Sean had. I took a seat near Anthony, hoping those kids wouldn't come near me. I liked this teacher, her name was Mrs. Sullivan, and was stricter. She was the type I liked, though, I could actually get stuff done. She talked about how challenging this course was, but she was always there to help. That class seemed to fly by, and I was soon going to Honors English. Anthony was also in that class, I knew he would be. He was a very smart kid. English was kind of boring, I always did better in English than Algebra so I didn't really pay much attention. There wasn't anyone that particularly stood out in that class, so it trudged along. I was excited for lunch and time outside, so I could chill out a little and not be swept up into my studious nature. We went back to our homeroom and put our stuff back into our lockers and took out our lunches. I followed the class outside. I met a girl named Sophie, and she was very nice. She was tall, taller than me, had long black hair and brown eyes. She was pretty, I was surprised she didn't have a boyfriend. I discovered she was trying out for volleyball like I was. I got excited I'd know someone. As we walked outside the warm, fresh air welcomed us into the beautiful courtyard. There were picnic tables, gardens, flowers, etc. Sophie left to go sit with her normal group of friends, and I felt weird inviting myself to sit with them. I walked towards an empty spot, I was glad I brought a book. Sean and Jordan saw me walking, and called to me.

"Hey! Madi! Come sit with us!" Jordan shouted, getting the attention of not just me, but Ethan, Anthony and another girl who was in my homeroom too. Ethan didn't look too happy at that.

"No, Madi, come sit with us!" Ethan waved, looking more at Jordan than me. Jordan immediately got angry, and stomped over to Ethan. They both walked closer to me, and ignored their friends' pleas to stop. The started pushing and shoving each other, and I tried to stop it, but ended up getting shoved away as well. Sean and Anthony saw this, and grabbed their friend away from each other. Sean was definitely more angry than Anthony, Anthony barely had the strength to hold Ethan away from Jordan. I didn't know where to go, but I didn't want to go to either side for the kids that got into the fight. I was choosing between Sean and Anthony, and I had a feeling it would affect the rest of my time here.

I didn't end up choosing either one, I found the spot I was originally going to, and the groups came to me. I was reading and enjoying my sandwich when Sean and Anthony approaced me.

"Clearly Jordan and Ethan won't say this, they're way to stubborn, but we wanted to apologize for that. We're so sorry you were in the middle of that and even got pushed. Any time there's a new student, this fight always seems to happen. It's who can have more friends, and who's got the better group." Sean explained, being the vocal one out of the two.

"It was just a matter of time before this happened, so we are sorry." Anthony added.

"That's okay. I'm not hurt, I'll be okay. Honestly, I'm not going to choose between them. I don't want to be put in that situation, and if that's what they're going to do, I'm not going to be friends with either of them." They both nodded in understanding. Anthony went back to Ethan and the other girl, while Sean stayed with me. He sat next to me, apologizing again and again, and I kept saying the same thing.

"Hey.. um, if you need someone to show you to the gym or your dorm, I can if you want.." He said nervously, rubbing his hand behind his head.

"Oh, yeah! That'd be great! After school, I gotta grab my volleyball stuff for tryouts from my dorm and then head to the gym to help set up nets." I laughed a little. His face lit up, excited.

"Awesome! I'll see you after school then?" He confirmed, getting up.

"Yeah, sure. Meet you after German." He smiled that big, warm smile and I turned to cover my blushing.

Today was amazing. Absolutely amazing.
