"And there's the last bathroom in this school." You told him and gave a big sigh afterwards. You were giving him a tour of the school so it'd be less likely that he'd get lost, besides, he's always going to be by your side, following you around to your next class. You didn't know how you felt about having the same person's presence around you for 7 hours straight. Annoyance? Sure, but like you said before, there was something different about Minghao's annoyance, and you weren't sure what you wanted to do about it.
"Thanks Y/N for the tour, not sure why you gave it to me since all I have to do is follow you, but thanks anyway." Minghao thanked you. It's rare to have such a kind person in your school, which probably explained how annoyed you were with everyone else's rude manners. "You're welcome. Now, how about we go study at my house? I could help you catch up on what we're learning, we can take it one class at a time. Sound good?" Minghao nodded delightfully with the cutest smile. He isn't cute Y/N, stop thinking like this, you thought to yourself. You turned around and started heading for the exit, you felt the same hand on your shoulder. You stopped in your tracks and asked him, "Why do you have to put your hand on my shoulder? The halls are empty, you won't lose me, you silly." "Well, I'm just used to putting my hand on people's shoulder if I'm following them. Besides, you have a nice shoulder, I guess." He said while rubbing the back of his neck with his hand and looking down, he looked nervous. "Thank you?" You didn't know if you should take the "nice shoulder" thing as a compliment, but you did anyway.
You turned back around and proceeded to walk towards the exit with Minghao. You found your car and got in the driver's seat, Minghao got in the passenger seat and buckled his seat belt, you did the same. You backed out and drove out of the school's parking lot, in just a few minutes, you were already in town center, where all those buildings were. "What are all these buildings for?" Minghao asked. You couldn't answer, all 16, almost 17, years of your life and you still had no idea what they were there for. "Hmm, I'm not entirely sure what they are or what their uses are, they've been there forever just standing in the middle of town like that. Hell, I don't even know where the entrance is." You tried to answer his question best you could. He hummed in response.
As you got out of town center and entered your neighborhood, Minghao exclaimed, "Hey this kinda looks like my neighborhood!" Your eyes opened wide as you turned to look at him for just a second. He had the biggest smile on his face, looking around saying that all the houses look familiar. You shifted your eyes back on the road as you turned a couple streets and parked in your driveway. "Hey, that's my house over there!" Minghao said excitedly, he pointed to the house right next to yours. And then you remembered the house next to you was for sale and it seemed Minghao's family bought it. You were neighbors. You quickly got out of your car and and got your house key out. You couldn't believe you guys were neighbors, you were still in shock. You heard Minghao come up behind you as you unlocked your door and opened it. "Welcome to my house, I guess. My parents aren't home yet so you can do whatever you want and eat whatever you want, just don't mess up my house or I'll kill you." Minghao nodded in response.
"Y/N, can you believe we're neighbors?" Looks like Minghao couldn't process it either. He looked around your house curiously. You let your dog out to your backyard so he wouldn't bother you two. "Minghao, come upstairs with me, my room is up there." As you two arrived to your room, you opened your door and apologized for the mess. You opened your computer and pulled up two chairs, you both sat down and started with your first bell. You felt a hand on your shoulder, once again. You ignored it this time, though, you didn't want to bother him with questions. Besides, it was becoming a normal thing now. You were getting used to it.
(Time Skip)
You guys were studying along just fine, it was almost 6 p.m. when you heard the front door open and heard both your parents yell "Y/N??" from downstairs. You got up and headed down stairs, you told Minghao, "Stay seated and keep going, you're doing great!" You scurried downstairs and greeted your parents, "I brought a friend home, he's a new kid and I decided to help him catch up on everything since we have the same schedule. He's also our new neighbor, he lives right next door." Your mom and dad looked surprised, you usually don't bring anyone home, but they were happy you made a new friend. "He's just upstairs studying in my room. Do you want to go meet him?" You asked both of them. "Sure!" Your parents answered simultaneously. You opened your door to find Minghao concentrated on his work, eyes glued to your computer. He turned around just a few seconds after your parents opened the door. "Hi, my name is Minghao, I'm Y/N's friend." He greeted. "And so we've heard!" Your mom said happily. "Well, we'll leave you two to finish up your work, good luck." Your dad said as both your parents left your room.
"So, do you think you've got it all understood?" You asked Minghao. "Mhm, just a little confused on this part." He said tiredly. "It's okay, we can finish that up and you can go right back home, do you want anything to eat?" You asked him, making sure he's comfortable. He shook his head, "No thanks Y/N, I think I'll be just fine, I have food at home. I don't think this will take all that long." He answered. You nodded your head and sat down, his hand automatically going up to your shoulder once again, and you proceeded to help him on what he was stuck on.
