"I know this is what we decided on, but now that it's here...it feels wrong." Says Jody. "There must be another way."
Kaitlin and Randal are preparing to leave for Club Glamour.
"It's the only option we have." Says Kaitlin. "We've gone over this."
My mom is frustrated. She doesn't like the idea of having to kill someone, even if that someone is fae. She has never been one for violence. Thinking back to how powerful Flax looked with his massive tail makes me begin second guessing our plan as well. I don't want to see them hurt, especially not because of me. I want to be there, I need to be there. "Do you have a plan? I mean a specific one?" I ask.
Randal and Kaitlin look at each other, Randal shrugs.
"Kids, this is serious!" Shouts Jody.
"What do you mean kids?" Asks Randal defensively. "We're both older than you."
"WELL YOU DONT LOOK IT! And since I'm the only mother here, that gives me rights to be the paranoid parent." Says Jody. She looks like she could explode, I've rarely seen my mom like this before.
"She's right." Says Riley. "You really need a game plan going into this, walking into the club and winging it is a bad idea."
"How about this?" Says Randal. "Kaitlin goes in first with the knife and uses it to pinpoint a fae, a male fae. I will enter shortly there after and keep an eye on her from a distance. She will act tipsy and come off as easy, with her body and that face she will have no problem luring one of them outside. Once outside she will lead him into a dark alley by promising him things all men want to hear from pretty girls, I will follow behind blocking his escape, and from there it should be easy."
Looking around everyone looks as surprised as me, did he really just come up with that?
"Though I don't like the idea of playing a floozy, the plan is solid." Says Kaitlin.
"I agree." Says Tapuro. "But where will you hide the knife? It's not like you can just walk into the club waiving it about."
"Here, take my purse." Jody moves to hand the purse to Kaitlin. It's grey with pink accents and is smaller than most purses I see women carrying, I think the blade will fit, but just barely. Kaitlin accepts the purse and dumps it contents onto the kitchen table, I will never understand why women feel they need to carry so much stuff. She then places the blade into the purse and closes it back up.
"We should alter your outfit too." Says Randal.
"What do you mean?" Asks Kaitlin. "I like this outfit."
"You look prissy, we're looking for easy, remember?" Says Randal.
"Fear not little wolf, I have many female friends and a room dedicated to them." Says Tapuro while grabbing Kaitlin by the hand and begins leading her towards the stairs. "This won't take long at all."
When they have ascended the stairs my mom moves over to Randal. "Has she healed enough?"
"She's not a hundred percent yet, but she's close." Says Randal.
Not much is said after that, we wait in silence for Kaitlin and Tapuro to return. Eventually the stairs begin creaking signaling their return, so we move to the stairs to greet them.
"Whoa!" The word escapes my lips and I regret it the second it does. I have just made it all to clear that Kaitlin looks amazing. I glance at Riley out of the corner of my eye and see she either didn't notice my comment or is choosing to ignore it, either way her sister is smoking hot! She's wearing a little black dress with black matching heels, her long black silky hair is pulled up into some elaborate hair do. She looks beautiful!"
