Lacy is a twelve year old kid who goes to school like any other normal kid. Sorry, scratch that, went to school like any normal kid. When she gets home she does her homework, her chores and plays in the yard. That is until her dad gets home and lets just say he's not so nice. Since she could remember Lacy was abused by her father. It's all she has ever known. He would come home from work and claim she hasn't done anything since she got home from school. It killed her on the inside that she couldn't tell anyone. She couldn't tell her teachers or her friends or even other family members. The only reason she didn't tell anyone was to protect the person who means the most to her in this world, her mother.

Her mother knew this was happening but she couldn't do or do anything about it because if she did, he said he would kill Lacy. He pitted the two girls against each other, they were alone and powerless. This went on for years and Lacy just wanted this madness to end, she just wanted peace for her and her mother. One day he stumbled in the house, drunk, you could smell it on him. She got up from the couch to avoid him and yelped as he grabbed her arm, hard. She had finally had enough she screamed and screamed for him to let go but he refused, she fell to the ground as he smacked her across the face. She sat up and let out a scream and suddenly everything went quiet. She looked around to see her father frozen in place and looked over at her sobbing mother. She raced up off of the floor and rushed over to her mother.

"Mom, mom! We have to go now!".

Both girls rushed out of the room to gather only what was important to them when all of a sudden she felt this strange tingle in her back. She looked back and suddenly there were wings on full display, made of thin glass. She looked around and looked towards a mirror. One second there and as soon as she blinked they were gone. She shook her head and thought to herself that her does not have time for this. She gathered the rest of the things and rushed out of the room towards her mother. They were rushing out the door when she heard her father calling her name, running to the car she looked back and saw him running towards the, So her and her mother got in the car as fast as they could and she slammed on the gas pedal and drove as fast as she could. They never looked back. That was over 5 years ago, her and her mother both live in Arizona now. They haven't her from her father since that day and she as thankful for that. Little did she know that on her last first day of school, her life was about to change forever.
