When Henry was seven he got really sick and no matter what his parents did or how many doctors they went to, he wasn't getting any better. Eventually after years and years of trying, and using all of their money to save their son they couldn't take it anymore. His parents said they were going to visit his aunts in Phoenix, Arizona but little did he know that was not the case. He got out of the car to greet his aunt when he noticed his parents were still in the car. He waved to them to get out of the car. All he saw was his parents looking really sad and pulling out of the driveway. He waited and waited for them to come back, looking out the window everyday he got home from school, he even got better while waiting for them to return but still nothing. Eventually he gave up hope and stopped looking out the window/
One day during freshman year he was walking down the hallway of his high school when he was shoved into a locker. He was used to this by now, none of the kids at his school liked him very much. They all made fun of him for not having any parents. One day a few years later, one of the kids said he was a pathetic waste of space and that he should have died a long time ago. He lost it. He crumbed to the floor and cried right there where everyone could see him. The group of boys started to laugh at him when the hallway went silent. And all he heard were screams.
"Help! I can't see!"
"Please, someone help me!"
Henry looked up from the floor and noticed that all of their eyes were clouded over and not only that, they were bleeding. He got up off the ground and looked around frantically on what he should do. He was so scared all he did was run in the opposite direction of the boys. He heard their scream lessen as he sprinted down the hallway. While he was running he started to feel his body getting lighter and lighter with every step he took. He was floating, he was actually floating. He looked at his back and he saw dark, rich wings.
He thought to himself, Why is this happening to me? Why can't I just be normal? He crashed on the ground miles away from home and started walking. He thought about everything that has happened to him and realized maybe he just needed a fresh start. When he arrived home he told his aunt that he wanted to transfer schools. She said that was fine and that he was going to transfer to a school in Phoenix. All he thought to himself was that he hoped this place was better.
