Arabella POV
Jesus, why the hell was he chasing me? It's not like he cares, right? I felt a pull to him earlier and that's the only reason I walked over by him. I shake it off, trying not to think about it too much. I get dizzy and stumble a bit expecting to fall to the ground, bracing for an impact that never came. I look behind me and low and behold, there he is. Jameson Snow holding me in his arms inches from the ground. I look in his eyes and a realization hits me.
His eyes.
I get a hold of myself and push out his arms and take a few steps back. I take a good look around and at him and throw my arms in the air and that's when I lost it.
"What the fuck are you doing here?" I yell in his direction and all he does is look at me. Then it hits him as well and looks at me with anger.
"Me? What the fuck was that back there? How did you do that? And where the fuck are we and for heavens sake will you please sit down before you pass out?" He shouts back towards me. I look at his face and it almost looks like he is concerned about me. I think about it for a second before sitting on the ground and laying back on the floor.
I close my eyes and start to think.
Where the hell are we?
I hear shuffling beside me and as I open my eyes, I see him standing over me like a tower. I just let out a huff and closed my eyes again.
"Do you mind, I'm thinking over here." I clearly desired to be left alone but he doesn't seem to realize as he sits down next to me.
"Yeah, I don't really care, I just want to figure out where the hell we are." He says as he looks up toward the endless black. He lets out a long sigh before turning sideways, propping up his head with his hand. We stay like this for the next few minutes, just in silence, thinking. He looks over at me like he wants to say something, I could guess what its about
"Well go on, ask."
I open my eyes and shift them toward him before turning on my side to mimic his position. He looks like he wants to ask lots of questions.
I hate questions...
After a few minutes later, presumably after gathering his thoughts he speaks.
"How did you do that?" He asks simply and plainly.
I let out a breath deciding on how much I want to tell him about things. This could freak him out and I don't really want to risk being found out by certain people, also known as the government. I should probably say something.
"How much do you want to know?"
"How much is there?"
"A bit."
"What's a bit?"
"It means we could be here awhile."
"Well at this point it looks like we've got nothing but time, since it doesn't look like we're going anywhere anytime soon." he looks around the emptiness before his eyes fall back on me.
His eyes are nice. Wait, what?
Well here goes nothing.
"Well, ever since I was little I was always able to make portals, or at least that's what I call them. I don't usually use them except if I'm running from something or sometimes they just go off on their own and suck me in. I can't tell you how many times I've landed in water after exiting one of those things. Anyways, I can do that along with some other...things." I state.
He looks at me with curiosity in eyes, inviting me to keep going. Alright.
I swallow the lump that's in my throat and continue.
"Well, I guess I could tell you more. I can do this." I lift up my hand and let light shine through my hand as the blackness above lifts into a shadowy mess. I hold it there for a few seconds before looking at the boy next to me. He looks up at the light with an amused smile on his face.
Interesting.
I let the light go back from where it came from and lowered my hand down to my side. I look over at him once again seeing if I've freaked him out yet, and oddly enough that does not appear to be the case. I continue.
"If you look far enough down in history you'll find a group of people who are one with elements, those people are called Kanay's." I stand up from my relaxed position and raise my hands. I can only use the one I guess since were in a black fucking void.
As the air starts to swirl, he stand up and looks at me with slight awe.
Finally some reaction, this is strange.
As I start to open my eyes and lower my hands, I hear clapping? I look over at him, only to see a smirk on his face. Frowning, I walk over to him and cross my arms stopping right in front of him.
"What's so funny, pretty boy?"
"Oh nothing, I just find you intriguing is all." I felt the space around me drop in temperature, I grab my arms for warmth as I see my own breath in the air. I let out a shiver as I felt something wrap around my shoulder. I see him resting his jacket over them, smiling like he knows something.
"What do you know?" finally asking the question I've been dying to ask. He lets out a laugh when suddenly I notice something on the tip of my nose. I look around me and notice it's snowing.
What the fuck?
I look around and sure shit it's snowing! What the hell is happening? All my questions are answered when I look over and see Jameson standing a few feet away from me with his hands raised.
No. Fucking. Way.
He looks at me with a devilish grin as he lets his arms down to rest by his side. He walks toward me and pulls the jacket closer together on my body.
"You didn't think you were the only special one in the universe did you?" He asks calmly.
It's my turn to look shocked. I didn't think there was anyone else like me.
"Well you thought wrong." I look up at him confused, oops I must have said that out loud.
"How? I mean when? What?" I'm in shock and in awe at the same time. I'm happy at least I'm not alone anymore.
"I do have another one but it would be kind of hard to show you considering I have the ability to summon darkness at my will. Since we're in an endless void it would be a little difficult but I'll show you later after we get out of here." He says to me as I nod slightly as I shiver from the lingering cold, pulling the warm jacket around my body.
"Sorry, the cold tends to linger when I use that one, I didn't mean to make you cold. I guess it doesn't really bother me anymore, it's been so long." He says as he looks my up and down once more while resting his hand on my shoulder. Almost as he's apologizing another way, it's sort of sweet.
"It's alright, it's not too bad." I smile gently at him.
What is it about him that makes me act differently?
He walks a few feet past me causing me to turn in his direction. He goes to speak.
"Where do you think we are?" he looks as though he's trying to see something out in the darkness but nothing it's really just is an endless void.
" I don't really know but I think we shou-" Before I finish my sentence I hear a tearing noise behind me and look in that direction. All I see are two people falling through a white hole, falling to the floor with a loud thud. As I look closer I notice the two people are Lacy and the guy I bumped into the hallway yesterday.
I see them look over at me with confused looks as they glance back behind them, just in time to see the portal close. Leaving us yet again, separated from the world.
