3 - a rebound

Y/N POV

" So can i have a volunteer to solve this equation? " Mr Lee asked.

We are currently having math and since our final examinations are near we needed to "buck up... a lot". At least that's what our teachers always say but in a class of lazy teens, no one listens.

The smartass of our class, also known as Kim Namjoon volunteered to answer. What can you expect, he's a nerd.

I was about to doze off before i felt a nudge on my shoulder. I looked up to see my seatmate, Taehyung smiling at me. I gave him an annoyed look and tried going back to sleep.

" Heyyy... " Taehyung started shaking me vigorously, trying to wake me up.

" DUDE WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL ME? " I whispered but slightly raising my voice.

" Sorry " Taehyung laughed. " Look i need to get a favour from you. You see... Jungkook's girlfriend- or rather his ex now, broke up with him a few days ago and he's been really upset about it. You know Jungkook is a very soft-hearted person and being his first break up it is hard for him. He really loves her and that's why i need you to help him to make her jealous to get her back. "

" How do i make her jealous? I don't even know her. " I was confused.

" Be a rebound. " Taehyung smirked.

I plopped myself on my bed, processing everything Taehyung said.

" A rebound... " I said to myself repeatedly, thinking of whether to accept the deal or not. Im not saying that it is a hard decision to make but that's what im saying.

I can literally fall for anyone i see, i can't control myself it's something that I'll never be able to stop. I even had a crush on Taehyung once. Im afraid that over time I'll start to grow feelings for Jungkook and get hurt after he is successful in getting Ji Eun back.

I stayed in my room making my decision.

- next day -

" H-hey Taehyung... " I tried to smile.

" Oh hey Y/N, soo you got an answer already? " He sounded excited.

Taehyung has been my friend since middle school and it hurts me to see him upset. After his break up long ago i was afraid of seeing him desvasted. I was about to reject his offer but after seeing how happy he was today i had no choice.

" Oh yea, im a-accepting it. " I 'smiled'

" Really? oh my god! " I nodded and Taehyung started happily jumping around. I giggled seeing him act like a child.

But he didn't know that i was afraid in the inside.

Taehyung POV

I was glad that Y/N agreed to help Jungkook, to be honest i didn't expect her to accept it so i was quite surprised as well but im happy that i can finally help Jungkook.

School ended and i hurried to Jungkook's house to tell him the good news.

" Yoo Jungkook! " I threw my bag on the couch and plopped myself beside Jungkook who was playing Overwatch.

" Oh hey... " His voice still a little... sad i suppose.

" Soo you remember about the plan right? Well i found someone who can help us. " I smiled.

Jungkook paused his game and turned to look at me before speaking. " Who? Do i know her? "

" Well you do but not that well i guess... It's Y/N! " I exclaimed.

Jungkook gave that 'who are you talking about' face and asked " is it that girl that you said had a crush on you a year ago? "

I laughed and nodded as Jungkook's mouth formed an O.

" I'll arrange a date for the two of you so that you guys can get to know each other better alright. " I patted him before taking out my phone and started texting Y/N.

" Alright she agreed, just meet her on Saturday for a date and make sure everything goes well okay. Good luck bro! I gotta go soon too. " I got my bag getting ready to go.

" Yea sure, bye. " He waved as he continued with his game and I left.

Y/N POV

I switched off my phone after the conversation ended and groaned as i plopped back down on my bed.

" Woah what's up lately, you've been groaning so much. Is something bothering you? " Lisa asked as she scrolled through Instagram.

Lisa's my best friend ever since i changed classes and she's a very cool person to hang out with too. I trust her with many things and told her more secrets than anyone else.

I sat back up and asked " Have you ever been a rebound?

She dropped her phone and went up my bed to seat beside me. " Did i just hear that correctly? A rebound? Oh honey, I've never... why? Wait don't tell me-"

" Yes im helping someone to be a rebound. " I looked down.

" Who? " She asked

" Jungkook. " Lisa gasped as she spoke " You mean the hot guy in school? Jeon Jungkook? Girl you're so lucky! " She gave me a slap on my shoulder.

" What do you mean lucky? You know how hard it's going to be for me to be a rebound? i can fall for him in any minute and then when he is successful in getting his ex back I'll be so heartbroken. And what if- " I spoke in fear.

" Shhh... don't panic. Just don't over-think and you'll be fine. " Lisa tried comforting me.

" Now we have to go on a date and- " Lisa cut me off. This girl will never stop interrupting people whenever they are speaking i swear to god.

" A date you say? well you came to the right person. I'll help you pick the best outfits and do your makeup and ta-da you'll be looking like a snack. Let's go! " Without letting me speak. she pulled me with her to shop for outfits and makeup.
