~Flashback~
[Third person POV]
"She's so beautiful" Nerissa spoke as she laid her newborn baby in her crib. She looked upon the child with joy filling her heart. Kailua her husband soon came into the cavern."How's my two beautiful ladies of my life doing?" He asked as he swam over to them. His tail creating flushes of bubbles as he did. Nerissa turned around to look at her husband. A small tear fell down the woman's cheek.
"I just can't get over how beautiful she is. I never thought I would be this happy...." Nerissa spoke. Her words were a bit shaky.
Kailua pulled his wife into his arms. His muscles flexed a bit as he held her tight. "I know. After our first child was lost to the madness of the sea...I never thought we would have another one again."
Nerissa quickly pulled away from his grasp. She hesitantly swam back over to the crib. Her long black hair floated all around her, covering her face. She cradled her body over her baby girl's shell crib. "I do not wish to lose another.... I can't bare to."
Kailua just nodded. " I know darling. I will protect you both. For as long as I live." He looked from his wife over to the baby. She was sound asleep. "Did you come up with a name while I was away?"
"Calypso." Nerissa said quickly after he asked.
"Oh I like it. Is there a meaning behind this name?" Kailua looked at his wife intently.
"She was sea nymph from long ago. I was very intrigued by her story actually." Nerissa said as she looked at her daughter.
"Well it's a very unique name. I'm sure she will learn to love it just as much as her mother." Kailua smiled. A horn has sounded and he looked towards the opening of the cavern.
"Must you leave so soon? Calypso needs her father as well." Nerissa looked at her husband with pleading eyes. He always had to leave to do some patrolling of the sea. A job given to him by Poesideon.
"Unfortunately I do my love....I'll be back in a few weeks." He kissed his wife before pressing a soft kiss to his daughter's tiny forehead.
