Ch. 5 - First Mission

Saki's POV

I sighed as I stretched my body, hearing satisfying pops on my shoulders, hips and back. "Eh, Sakura-chan, are you okay?" I turned to see Naruto looking curiously at me. I squinted a bit, then noticed his suspicion.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I replied. "I just fell asleep sitting up last night during meditation."

Naruto chuckled. "I didn't know you were a workaholic." he said.

"Meditation isn't work." I pointed out. He still had the outfit I bought for him. Then, Kakashi arrived with our new mission.

"Sasuke, point A."

"Sakura at point B."

"Naruto, point C."

"Sai, point D."

"Okay, good, report your distance to me." Kakashi said.

"5 meters." Sasuke said.

"Target is moving." I said as I noticed that it perked up and looked at me.

"It's heading towards Sakura-chan." Naruto said curiously.

"Ah, I see a deer heading towards her." Sai said.

"And some dogs nearby." Sasuke pointed out. I looked up and saw cute birds circling from above. I sighed.

'Girls, what ability is this?" I asked.

I dunno, probably a new kekkei genkai developing.

Nope, it's probably Sakura's animal chakra nature. She let it slip out by accident.

'That explains it.' I said. 'Sakura, try and gather it, then focus it on Tora while Inner switches to sensing.'

Soon, the animals other than the deer and Tora began to leave. "Why is the deer still here?" I asked out loud.

"Mission complete." Sai said, popping up from beside me. I picked up Tora and began to scratch it by the ear.

"Oh, my Tora, how I miss you so much!!!" the Daimyo's wife said as she hugged Tora too tight. I sighed.

"Now I know why it ran away." Naruto sighed. I walked up to the lady and tapped her shoulder.

"Um, miss?" I asked. The lady paused and looked at me. "I think you should be more gentle with animals. They like being handled gently." She blinked in confusion before looking down at Tora and fixing her hold on it. "Cats also like being scratched behind the ears and under the chin." The Daimyo's wife took heed to my suggestion and began to scratch under the cat's chin. Tora began to purr and nuzzle up to her.

The lady smiled at me. "Thank you, my dear." she said. "Maybe now, Tora won't run away, anymore." I smiled at her and nodded.

"It was my pleasure." I said.

The lady shook her head. "No! The pleasure's all mine!" she said. She turned to jiji. "I'll be tipping her for her help." Jiji nodded, and she left once more.

I tuned them out, thinking of what I was gonna do. Should I save them? It was time, right? Should I change them? Then I saw something flash before my eyes.

I looked around the current room I was in. It was very strange, a familiar, old room. I realized that this was one of Tazuna's guest bedrooms. I perked up as I heard the sliding door open. I turned and saw Sasuke standing at my doorway. He walked towards me, but I turned around and looked away from him.
