Saki's POV

I paused, tilting my head curiously. "What's a young girl like you doing here?" He asked.

I frowned slightly. "Who are you?" I asked.

The man with orange hair and purple eyes tilted his head in thought. "My friends know me as Yahiko," he said. "How about you?"

I blinked in confusion. I didn't think my vision would happen this early in the trip. "Haruno," I replied. "Haruno Sakura." I studied his face, the studs, the clouds on his cloak, his hidden hands that weren't long enough to peek out the sleeves. Then I looked at his eyes that seemed to study my face as well. "What happened to your eyes? It's a pretty purple, but it's got so many rings!"

"I suppose I was born with it," Yahiko replied.

"It's pretty and unique," I stated, smiling softly at him.

Yahiko nodded politely. "I have a question for you," he said.

This is where your vision ends, Saki.

'I know, Saku,' I said.

"Do you know a woman named Saki Yamamoto?" Yahiko questioned.

I froze.

Saki?

That's your name, isn't it?

'How did he know?' I asked quietly.

Coincidence?

See what he wants first. He looks dangerous so don't keep him waiting.

"You can say that," I replied, smiling still and tilting my head. "Who is she to you?"

Yahiko paused, looking away slightly. "She.....was someone I knew," he nearly mumbled.

I tilted my head in confusion. "You knew Saki?" I questioned, raising my brows in confusion.

Yahiko looked back at me. "You had the same smile," he said before turning and jumping away.

I stared at his fading back for a moment before I felt a hand on my shoulder, making me jump. I turned around to see Naruto, looking concerned. "You okay?" He asked.

I sighed in relief and nodded. "I'm fine," I said.

"Were you talking to someone?" Naruto questioned, looking around in curiosity. "I thought I heard another voice."

"Most likely me," I replied happily before imitating a male voice a bit similar to Yahiko's. "I like having many hobbies, and one of my hobbies is pranking people by changing my voice."

Naru raised a brow in surprise, tilting his head. "You like trolling?" He asked. "Then when Sasuke pranked Kakashi, why didn't you like it?"

I frowned. "It's one thing to disrespect someone on first impression," I stated. "It's another to actually make a good prank. His prank wasn't even that good." I grinned. "Come on, you gave the hokage monument a makeover in broad daylight!" I giggled as he shuffled and blushed, looking away bashfully. "Naruto, people don't give you enough credit for the things that you do. You're resourceful, creative, stealthy, and smart in ways I probably can't keep up with. I'm book smart and only sometimes street smart, but your experiences, your passion, and your will alone makes you so formidable." I smiled sadly at him. "I'm sorry I only just realized that." I closed my eyes. "I'll try my best to make it up to you, Naruto, and be the friend that you deserve." I looked up only to notice that tears were falling down his cheeks, surprising me.

He sniffed, attempting to wipe away his tears and covering his eyes to try to stop himself. I smiled sadly and walked towards him before I pulled him into a hug. I could feel his sobbing as his body trembled. He hugged back and he cried into my shoulder. I ran my fingers through his hair, wondering if it would relax him if even a little bit.

"I'm so sorry," I sighed, feeling bad that he had to feel like this.

Naruto shook his head as he forced his voice to settle to speak. "I-It's not your fault," he sobbed.

We let go of each other, and I kissed his forehead. I had to go on my toes slightly to even reach his forehead, but he was quite short. I knew he was malnourished, so I wondered if I could start taking care of him. I remembered from his history in the shows that he wasn't allowed into many places in his own home village. She had to wonder if she could do some shopping for him.

"Thank you for what you did, all these years that passed," I said. I didn't intend to get emotional or to make him cry. I meant it when I said I'd make it up to him.

"Sakura, where are-"

I pulled back from Naruto to see Kakashi and Sasuke walking towards us. Kakashi looked surprised while Sasuke turned red and stalked off. I shrugged before letting Naru turn away to calm himself. I walked towards Kakashi.

"What's up, sensei?" I questioned, grinning at the man.

"I was gonna ask if you were up to guarding Tazuna and his daughter to the town," Kakashi said, then glanced at Naruto. "It looks like you're a bit busy, though...."

"No worries, sensei," I said, grinning. "We can handle it." I turned to Naruto. "Right, Naru?"

The blond boy looked at me in surprise and blushed at the nickname. "H-Hai," he agreed before looking bashfully away.

I giggled before I turned to Kakashi. "Something tells me that something may happen on this mission," I said, my eyes softening. "Something important. Something that might force me to do something you don't expect." I tilted my head as I leveled a stare at his single eye. "When it happens, will you trust me?"

Kakashi's eyes widened slightly before it softened. He gave a small nod. "Alright, now go guard the builder," he said.

I grinned and saluted him before grabbing Naruto and running away from our teacher.
