Daisy.
...
I woke up to the sound of therapy by All Time Low. That was my song. I was reminded everyday that people didn't need me, so, why not be reminded of it with a beautiful voice? I sang along the words as I turned the shower on.
Arrogant boy,
Love yourself so no one has to,
They're better off without you.
Arrogant boy,
Cause a scene like you're supposed to,
They'll fall asleep without you,
You're lucky if your memory remains.
I sighed as my phone paused the song and started playing Dear Maria, count me in. I was obsessed, okay? I answered it as I heard screeching into the phone.
"DAISY! GUESS WHAT?! GUESS WHERE I AM?!"
Okay, for the record, I had one friend. her name was Amethyst. She had long dark hair and eyes to match. We were so alike, it sometimes scared us.
"Let me guess. The record store down the street?" I tried sounding as enthusiastic as I could, but it was still seven in the morning. I lived in the part of New York, that you'd call Queens. I was too poor for Manhattan, and Long Island scared me. I once lived in a suburban deathtrap in Minnesota, but let's not talk about that.
"YES! GUESS WHO'S HERE?!"
She had been recently obsessing over a guy she met who also worked there, they worked opposite shifts. he had twelve a.m. to eight a.m., and she had eight a.m. to four. She sometimes (almost every morning) went in early to see him. It was cute, although they just met they had such a strong connection.
"Ashton is there?" I mumbled.
"Ashton, and friends." I could hear the mischief in her voice, she had been trying to set me up with various boys for awhile now, but I just wasn't interested. I didn't need anyone other than Amethyst and my cat, Trevor. I named him after a very long story, between a few fandoms I was once in, let's just say, the catchphrase was basically, "Fucking Trevor!" It made me laugh, so I guess That's why I did it.
I tried my best not to sound uninterested as I combed through my hair with my fingers, waiting for my Straightener to heat up.
"And let me guess, it is my duty to get my ass ready, and walk up there?"
"Nice guess! See you in twenty!"
I sighed and hung up my phone. Turning on one of my favorite songs at the moment, (Ocean and Atlantic by Mayday Parade.) as I applied makeup and chose my outfit. My regular apparel, consisted of band tees, skinny jeans, and vans or converse. simple stuff. I grabbed some dark jeans and a green day tee, and slipped on some shoes as I walked out.
The crisp autumn air reminded me of hell. Otherwise known as School. I was so happy I graduated last year. Autumn no longer makes me cringe. It's kind of beautiful, actually.
I walked in the record store and saw three boys with Ashton.
One with lady legs and high blonde hair,
One with a eyebrow piercing and pink hair,
And one with dark hair.
The dark haired boy was laughing about something the pink one said to the blonde, as he pouted. He was so happy. he looked so carefree, as his giggles filled the small store. I only wondered what just past held.
Amethyst smiled and motioned for me to come over, so I stood next to her as I got introduced.
"Guys, this is my friend Daisy, the one I share an apartment with. Daisy, this is Ashton, seeing as you guys haven't actually met yet." The boy took my hand in his and smiled. His dimples were so deep I couldn't see the bottom of them, Christ. She went on introducing me, next to the pink haired one.
"Hi I'm Michael, and I'm punk rock."
The blonde boy suddenly erupted into a fit of laughter as Michael punched his arm.
"Ow! You twat!" He exclaimed, rubbing his bicep. He looked over to me as he took his lip ring between his teeth.
"Hey, I'm Luke." He smiled and eyed my body.
"And That's Calum." Michael said, diverting my attention from Luke.
I looked over at the brunette, he was gorgeous, to say the least, but I didn't want to let him know that. That's like suicide.
Calum, out of my surprise, pulled me into a hug.
"Daisy is a pretty name." He barely mumbled into my ear before letting go. Nobody was paying any attention to us now, so I walked outside for a cigarette.
I sat on a bench and smoked, until I felt someone sit beside me. I turned and saw Calum, awkwardly blushing and smiling.
"I'm sorry if I scared you in there, I just didn't like the way Luke was looking at you, And once Luke says something's his, it's his, and I wanted to get to know you, because I think you're really pretty."
I sat there in pure awe wondering if I should run or stay and talk to this Calum guy.
