Lera's POV

It was a welcoming morning. I had planned to spend the day specifically with Shirayuki. And of course, to explain her about Kaine before she meets face to face with him unexpectedly.

Before I could even leave my room, Izana came to visit me. Unexpectedly. "Oh, Izana. I..um... didn't know you were coming..." I said nervously.

"Can't I see the woman I am going to marry whenever I wish?" He asked with a smirk. My blush was obvious. "It's not that you can't..." I murmured.

"Oh, are you going somewhere?" Izana inquired after seeing I was all dressed up for the day. "Yes, I'm going to meet Shirayuki, actually." I answered with glee.

"Oh, that red-headed girl?"

I almost forgot that he wasn't exactly fond of Shirayuki. "At least call her by her name..." I pouted. Izana simply shrugged. "Can't say I'm a big fan of foreigners." He replied.

"At least respect her as a friend of mine.." I whined and he chuckled. "What are you laughing for?!" I pouted with a slight anger.

"Alright, I'll try." He said while squeezing my cheek. "If that will make you like me more." He smiled and I felt my heart race. "I already like you so much...." I mumbled.

"What was that?" He inquired and my face turned as red as a tomato.

"N-Nothing!" I responded in a hurry. "Now, I'm going to be late. I'll see you later, Izana!" I said as I took off to meet Shirayuki.

Shirayuki awaited for me patiently by our meeting place. I waved at her excitedly once I saw her and she did the same with a radiant smile.

"Morning, Lera!" She greeted and I returned a greeting as well. We hadn't spend time like this together for a long time so it was kind of memorable.

We went to the harbour to check out the sceneries and we had breakfast together. We also visited the landlady who provided accommodation for Shirayuki back in the days. Now that Shirayuki was staying in the palace.

Soon, we settled down at a tea shop to take a rest from all the walking we had done. I knew it was the perfect chance to tell her about Kaine.

"Um...Shirayuki?" I started. She hummed in response after she sipped on her cup of tea. "Well, I have to tell you something about someone in particular."

She nodded, listening intently to what I had to say. I continued. "You remember the man who was my captor, right?" I asked and she nodded instanly.

"Of course. How could I forget?!"

"Well," I said. "That man is in the palace right now."

Shirayuki was startled and she had that confused look on her face. Like she didn't know what to say. So I kept on explaining.

"And he kind of is a prince. He turned out to be the late King's secret son." I said and Shirayuki just looked at me. She was thinking, no doubt, about how to respond to the sudden news.

"Well, um, has he done anything inappropriate to you?" She finally asked. I tried to recall all the times Kaine had attempted to be intimate with me.

"Not really." I replied. I wasn't telling her so she could fend for me. I was telling her because I wanted her to know what I thought.

So I kept on telling about Anri and her relations to Kaine and the fact that I suspected Anri was hiding something as well.

At last, Shirayuki told me that she would always be on my side. "Lera, we can work this out together!" She exclaimed. What a great friend she is!
