*Tyler POV*

Running a hand through my light brown hair I started to get frustrated doing paperwork for an upcoming pack meeting. I really hated paperwork. I am the Alpha of the BlackFur pack, we are a respectable large and powerful pack residing in the U.S. I was pretty proud of it to be honest. The name was kind ironic because I was the only wolf who has pitch black fur. Although I wasn't always the only one. My mother had the same exact color but she killed herself after my father was killed protecting her from some rogues that managed to sneak into our territory and pack house. She hung herself in the spot her and my dad first met.

I was seventeen when I took over as Alpha. I was a young alpha but not the youngest out there, I know an alpha that is fifteen. It must of been hard considering me taking over when I was seventeen was difficult enough. Even though life was tough I had my loyal pack behind me to help. I did a pretty good job if you ask me. My beta Josh has been my best friend since we were kids and helped me through all the stressful times in my life.

I am about 6'2, which made me the tallest in my pack, I'm also the strongest in my pack but considering I was Alpha I should be. I was naturally tan but not to dark,I also had light brown semi-curly hair but only when it's wet but it's wasn't out of control. I'm now twenty two which was a late age for not having a mate but I have seen older people not have their mate yet.

You usually find your mate at sixteen but I sadly didn't. I wasn't pleading for a mate but it's not like I didn't want one. All my friends found their mate in highschool or the year after. Most of the people in my pack found their mate inside of our population or the neighboring territories. I was starting to get worried I would never find her but it wasn't too late yet so I still had time.

Waiting for your mate is something I believe in and most people in my pack do too but we wouldn't care as long as your mate is the last person you ever sleep with. Rejection of your mate is something that has become frowned upon during the last fifty years so it hasn't been a very big problem inside or around my territory.

Letting out a groan I sat up and walked out of my office to see my beta Josh running down the hall almost crashing right into me. When he reached me her was out of gasping for air. What the hell could he be panting for? He finally spoke which came out rushed and breathless.

"Josh what's wrong?" I asked really concerned. He's never stressed or nervous about anything well besides his mate Crystal.

"Its a rogue, but get this it's just one, a female." he said harshly and slowly so I could understand him this time.

What the hell rogues now a days don't usually travel alone especially not females? Most rogues form little families or clans with up to ten to thrity people. They reason rogues run away from their homes is because they don't like pack life so large or didn't like the rules in place. Most rogue packs don't interfer with packs anymore because they want to stay as far from pack life as possible. I heard his voice start rambling again as he pulled me out of my thoughts.

"I could barely smell her scent but I saw her sitting by the river she looked like she was almost in another world or something. It was pretty weird and freaky if you ask me." his voice sounded questionable and curious onto why she was by herself and somehow distant from reality.

"I'll go take care of it Josh it will be fine how strong can she be?" I said chuckling in the process. The ironic part is I would be eating my words in about two seconds.
