Do you ever get the feeling that something bad is about to happen, while something good is happening? When your heart starts to beat faster by the minute, and your adrenaline starts to run--And no matter what you do--You can't move. You can't run. You can't even look without feeling like every bone in your body is about to burst out. That's me...right here...right now. Let me start from the beginning.

                                           Samantha:

I'm on my way!!(10:40am)

10 minutes later

I immediately sat down in my seat beside Jae trying not to bring attention to myself because I had already missed about an hour of class.

But when I turned to mouth the words I'm sorry,Jae rolled his eyes playfully grinning. When doing so I realized today was going to be a good day. Boy was I wrong.

12:00pm

It's almost time for me to get ready for my weightlifting competition. And in all honesty I'm so nervous. I wish my dad could come to see me,but mom would never approve. She always wants me to be this perfect girl. But I can never live up to her standards. It's always wear a dress, you have to learn how to cook, and be a polite young woman.

But maybe...just maybe...if she'd consider coming to one of my games she'd realize it's not as unorthodox° as she thinks. She'd like it! Who am I kidding? Maybe I shouldn't be doing this.

1:15pm

"Samantha Rachel Thomas," the speaker goes on looking up from reading off a small card, " wins first place and is going to the Nationals! Come up and receive your prize." He smiled giving me a huge golden trophy.

"Thank you! All of you a--" I stopped mid sentence as I pulled out my phone hearing it ring for the second time. It was from...my dad. I haven't heard from him in a month,so I stepped off the stage smiling and answered the call.

"Yes?"

"Well hello to you too!" He said sarcastically.

"Sorry, dad, I was at my competition."

"It's fine I get it...you love doing that was."

"Yeah, I wish mom could understand."

"Sweety."

"What is it?" I asked as a nervous giggle left my mouth.

"Your mother...is...in prison."

"What!?" I let out a soft sob.

"Sweety. I-I have more bad news...she died in prison as well." Dad said his voice slightly above a whisper likely holding back tears.

"Daddy." I cried. "Where are you? I'll come visit."

"About that...I'm in the hospital, but I'm fine I swear! Jus-Just come to the funeral... it's September 1st. I love you!"

"I-I love you too!"

"Bye."

"See ya' then."

Just when I turned to leave and I thought things couldn't get any worse--Jae was there and I couldn't move. Every time I tried to move a part of my body,it hurted. And I couldn't help but to cry.

Then he came closer and everybody staired at me--And I didn't know what to do. So as soon as I regained the ability to move, I ran out of sight--Not realizing that Josh was there as well.
__________

"What was that!?"

"What do you mean? I came to cheer her on and she just cried!"

"I swear it wasn't me! She was on the phone. Maybe that's why she's crying."

"It better be. Just because you're my brother doesn't mean I won't kick your--"

"Josh, you should go check on her."

"Yeah, you get the gist." I said running to where I'm pretty sure she went.

"Sam! You in here?"

"Leave me alone!" I heard her cry from afar.

I walked towards where the voice was coming from. And as I got closer the crying got louder. "What's wrong?"

"I thought I said leave me alone."

"Please just tell me what's going on."

"Then will you leave me alone." She wimpered.

"Yes. Yes,whatever you want."

"Fine. Well after the completion I got a call. It was from my dad and," she sighed, "He's in the hospital. And my mom's s-sh-she's dead!" She cried even more than before.

"I'm so sorry! I wish there was something I could do." I whispered about to walk out the door.

"Wait! Just...stay. Please."

Without saying a word I walked back over to her and placed my head on hers while she placed her head on my chest. And we stayed like this for what seemed like forever.

I think I might love this broken girl.
