Marshalls POV:

Gumball has been dead for about a week. I can hardly believe it myself. The funeral is today, and I can't seem to focus.

"Marshall do you need help with your tie?" Fionna questioned.

She has been supportive, grieving with me. I would be lying if I said there wasn't pain in my heart. Matter of fact, it was shattered.

"Yes please." I choked.

She walked over to me, dressed in black, like everyone one else in Aaa.

"It's not your fault you know. I should have told him...to back away from the edge." She whispered, a single tear dropping from her face. Part of me wanted to scream at her, tell her she was right. I want to rip apart Aaa, crushing it until there is nothing left. It wasn't her fault though, it wasn't anyones.

"No Fionna, no one would have guessed." I muttered.

The moment it happened I gave him all the venom I had, and continued to do so for five days. His heart never took a beat, although his spine healed well, which is why they waited to announce his death. I saved the body, but I suppose Gumball was gone.

"Fionna I will be down in a minute, could you give me some time to gather myself."

"Of course."

Now that I was alone, I let it all out. My hands, staying at my sides wanted to tear apart this castle, this place. Everywhere was a memory, him. I clenched my fists as hot tears streamed down my face, and I cried, just like I have been doing for the past week or so. I looked at the candy clock on the wall and it was time. My feet had a mind of their own as they walked me down the stairs and into the ballroom where the funeral was held. I had a list of things I wanted o say, but words were useless.

The room fell silent as I entered, wiping away my tears with my hand as I walked up to his coffin. Looking down I sighed, he was beautiful, everything I ever needed. His pink bubble gum skin looked lively, and if I didn't know any better, I'd say he was sleeping.

"I love you Gummy." I whispered, and took his cold hand in mine, and rubbed my thumb around his palm.

Ever so slowly I leaned down, and placed my lips on his. Without moving and my eyes closed, I cried, but then felt a hand run through my hair. Gumballs hand was now warm, and I felt his lips move against mine slightly. It must be wishful thinking, but then I felt his hand squeeze mine roughly. My eyes fluttered open at the sudden movement and I found myself looking into purple eyes.

"G-Gumball?" I whimpered, and moved my face away from his slightly.

"I love you too Marshall." He giggled.

Not believing what I was seeing I backed up, and Gumball sat up and stretched.

"What a funeral, although there is no need for one." He climbed out of the coffin and stood up shakily. Everyone in the room either gasped, stood shocked in silence, or screamed for their lives. The venom must have just kicked in, due to his fatal injuries. Gumball held up his hand, and the room fell silent again.

"Just to let you all know, I'm alive. I have a heart beat." Gumball laughed again.

"You were dead for nearly a week and you're laughing?!" Fionna shouted, with tears in her eyes.

"I'm sorry, it's just if I don't laugh, I will most likely freak out. It is quite a shock to wake up in a coffin, at your own funeral after all." He argued, looking at me.
