Jeongin x Reader

Soulmate bonds came in many forms. Your's was that you could hear her soulmate's voice whenever they were singing. The first time was a shock. You was having a really crappy day, you failed a math test and your fish you had since you were 5 died.

All of a sudden a melodic voice rang throughout the room. It was a male's voice singing in Korean. And of course you freaked out. I mean who wouldn't? Suddenly hearing someone singing is pretty crazy. So of course you ran- I mean tripped down the stairs and demanded your parents tell you answers. They looked at each other and smiled. 'It's your soulmate honey' they had told you.

And wow- you were impressed you couldn't sing for your life, you sounded like a dying cow. Not an exaggeration.

One day in the Stray Kids dorm, Jeongin heard a voice filtering through the air and winced as he started to hear it clearly.

"Yah- Jeongin are you okay?" One of his members, Changbin asked.

"Yea." Jeongin sighed depressingly. "It's my soulmate. They started singing again."

Jisung looked up from his phone, "What's wrong with that? Shouldn't you be happy that they are singing?"

"She literally sounds like a dying cow though." He complained and started mimicking the song you were singing, and literally butchered it.

You on the other hand was at home alone singing your heart out until you heard a voice join yours and you gasped offendedly. "OKAY SOULMATE I DO NOT SOUND LIKE THAT!" You yelled. You immediately started singing a song that Jeongin had been singing earlier that day and started mimicking that, except in a horrible, horrible representation of it.

As the song faded from Jeongin's ears, he started drinking some water, watching the other members crack up around him about his soulmate's singing. All of a sudden a new song filtered through and Jeongin spat out his water and started hacking. Surprising the members, who went into another laughing fit. A second later Jeongin started singing back in another horrible voice. That war went on all day.

There was times where you enjoyed your soulmate's singing, like when you was really stressed out you could just listen to them sing all day. Other times you couldn't stand them, like in the middle of a test you'd hear a goofy song and couldn't concentrate, epically failing the exam.

"Y/N! You've got to listen to this!" Your friend, Avy said running up to you in the cafeteria. Avy handed you an earbud and clicked play on a video. It was set in an abandoned factory sort of setting and it was pretty interesting to you.

But, when the chorus started was the shocker. "Don't talk to me." A boy sang, and you were shook. You knew that voice. But- it-. Your brain couldn't function so it focused on the video that your friend was showing you again. And when the part came up again, you knew that he was your soulmate. After song finished, your friend, being part of the fandom started showing you all the members. And with a shaky finger you pointed to the boy and asked, "Who is that."

Avy then went on a long rant about the maknae of the group, Jeongin. You was instantly captivated by him.

When you finally got home you jumped onto your laptop and pulled up the lyrics to Grr. And then you cleared her throat, and then did the impossible. Actually tried to sing and as loud as possible. "Don't talk to me..."

Jeongin was on Weekly Idol doing the random dance play. When he thought he heard the song switch and started dancing to the chorus of Grr. He was so focused on it, he didn't stop to think about how the singer was a female, and how the quality wasn't as good as when it was recorded.

The rest of his members groaned when the music stopped, but got confused when they saw Jeongin still dancing. He finally noticed the rest of them weren't dancing and stopped embarrassed. He had a look of pure shock on his face. He shook his head and put it into the back of his mind, trying to focus on the rest of the show. Which was pretty hard considering you kept singing Grr over and over again.

When Stray Kids got home, was when Jeongin started freaking out. His soulmate knew who he was. If his members didn't stop him, he would've paced a hole through the floor. He responded back to you by singing Grr back, much better than you sang he might add.

You were absolutely ecstatic. And somehow you got tickets to the concert and the meet and greet, from your friend who you told about the problem.

From that day on you couldn't wait. You and Jeongin still had your horrible singing battles, but it was fun.

Then the day came for you to go the concert. You were a nervous wreck. So nervous, you ended up deciding nothing and leaving the house in a pair of sweatpants and a hoodie with sneakers. You made your way to the venue, ignoring all the various fans staring at you like you were crazy.

The concert flew by, and you sung along with some of the other songs.

Then the most nerve racking moment came. The meet and greet. A girl you were so nervous. You kept fidgeting in your seat and singing 'The Duck Walked Up To The Lemonade Stand' Five gazillion times.

And boy it was frying on Jeongin's nerves. Of course he was the last one in the line, so you had even more added stress. So when you finally made it to the front of the line. You couldn't stop sneaking glances at Jeongin. But, the members were really nice so that was nice considering how nervous you were.

"Hello!" You had finally made it to Jeongin.

"Hi-" After the one word left your mouth Jeongin's jaw dropped. You giggled a bit and put a finger to your lips. "Nice to meet you, soulmate." You said winking at him. The confidence coming out of seemingly thin air.

Jeongin smirked back at you, his confidence growing. "So your the girl who sounds like a dying cow trying to sing."

You gaped at him offended. "It's not that bad!" You exclaim to him.

He merely shook his head, "Whatever makes you sleep at night. Oh! By the way I'm Jeongin, but you probably already knew that." He said slightly flirting with you and blushing.

"I'm Y/N." You wink back. "It's nice to hear your voice."
