Chenle x Reader
You had an interesting soulmate bond. Tattooed on your wrist was a dolphin. After going to a soulmate specialist you found that strangely, it would be the first thing your soulmate would so to you.
You were pretty confused. Maybe your soulmate was a dolphin or something.
So you always grew up loving dolphins. One day when you were 15 you saw a flyer about an internship at the aquarium.
You applied and you were so excited when you got the job. You started pretty basic, feeding the animals. And you always enjoyed the days where you were allowed to feed the dolphins. The dolphins trainers would always joke to you about how they could see hearts coming out of your eyes. You always pouted at them.
One day you were called to your boss' office. You kept fiddling nervously with your dolphin necklace. "Ah hello Marina." Your boss said as you sat next to a woman. "This is Mavis, one of the dolphin trainers. She is going to be retiring soon so she needs someone to replace her. The other employees how you love the dolphins so I would like you to replace Mavis. That is if you accept."
Your mouth was opening and closing. "Yesss!" You squealed. Before covering your mouth in embarrassment.
The two chuckled at you before your boss said, "Then congratulations Marina. You'll be working with the dolphins."
Over the next week you would become familiar with the dolphins and to no surprise they loved you. The staff jokingly said the dolphins were your soulmates. After about a month Mavis started teaching you how to do tricks with them. In school you we're on the gymnastics club when you weren't working at the aquarium, so that came in pretty useful.
After a year of working there Mavis had retired and you become one of the most well known dolphin trainers at the aquarium.
"Come on come on!" Chenle said impatiently to the 17 other members in his group.
"Where are we going again?" Taeil asked.
"To visit Chenle's cousins." Jisung said grinning at Chenle.
"For the last time! I'm not related to dolphins!" Chenle screeched sounding exactly like a dolphin. The 17 other boys stared at him. "Come on!"
As soon as everyone was ready, Chenle practically ran out the door and into the van. After ten minutes of tense waiting, NCT arrived at the aquarium. They split into three groups so he wouldn't be as suspicious. I'm Chenle's group was Jisung, Renjun, Mark, Winwin, and Kun. As soon as they entered the aquarium, Chenle dragged the others to the dolphin show. He sat down, bouncing up and down in his seat in anticipation.
Suddenly the lights shut off and an announcer began speaking, "Hello! Welcome to today's dolphin show. We have trainers Peter and Marina here."
That was your cue. You dove into the water beside Peter. You both surfaced and waved to the crowd before whistling. Your favorite, Selene came swimming over to you. She let out a noise and you laughed at her. Midnight raced over to Peter practically barreling into him. The crowd laughed as Selene seemed to be scolding Midnight.
You chuckled and whistled again to Selene who swam back over to you. You started to ride her before you leapt off of Selene, her giving you a boost before flipping mid air. You dove back into the water as the crowd cheered. Both you and Peter continued doing tricks with the dolphins causing oohs and ahhs throughout the crowd.
When the program finished everyone let out a roar of applause. The announcer then invited everyone to the edge of the pool to pet the dolphins.
You saw a green haired boy practically sprint to the edge before he tripped and fell into the pool, letting loose a dolphin-like screech. You quickly swam over to him and helped him out. Almost laughing at him.
"Careful," you warned jokingly. "You don't want the dolphins to mistake your hair for seaweed." The boy let out another dolphin screech staring at his wrist then back up at you. "Dude are you okay?" You asked concerned.
"Your my soulmate." He said disbelievingly. You looked at his wrist which said. Careful you don't want the dolphins to mistake your hair for seaweed.
You let out a gasp. You turned over your wrist revealing the dolphin tattoo. "I always thought my soulmate was a literal dolphin, but your pretty close." You said staring at the two of your wrists.
There were 5 boys behind him snickering at him. "See, Chenle you are related to dolphins." One of the said laughing at him.
The boy's name you now knew as Chenle flushed bright pink.
"Well Chenle, I'm Marina. It's nice to meet you." You said smiling at him, dolphins cheering in the background.
